L’emplacement, exceptionnel.

It was close to Tahoe City.

Overpriced for what it was. Parking was a struggle. The room smelled strongly of smoke. Ice machine was broken. The room was supposed to be a partial lake view and it was a view of the parking lot.

The location was stunning. Great food and ambiance in the restaurant. The bed was big and comfortable, and the room had all we would expect, other than bathrobes.

The decor was very poor, extremely tired. Carpets and furniture are dirty and fraying in many areas. In need of freshening up in all the hotel areas. We were not made to feel particularly welcomed and felt the hotel guests were secondary to the restaurant. No one greeted us on arrival or when arriving for breakfast. Breakfast was almost an afterthought, and there is definitely room for improvement!

Home away from home in Tahoe, can’t wait to come back. The staff feels like family the minute we walked in. The food was high quality and interesting choices. Love the nightly tea and hot chocolate.

All of the staff were exceptional. Friendly, courteous and helpful. The restaurant was superb. Excellent menu and wonderful food. The outlook could not be surpassed. Relaxing in front of the huge wood fire of an evening was a bonus. Thanks to Maureen, (probably incorrect spelling), she was a trooper. She never seemed to relax. Always on the job. She, Lisa and Joe should all be congratulated for their dedication to making sure their guests were comfortable.

I requested a non-adjoining room when booking but, to our disappointment, we got an adjoining one. Naturally we heard our neighbour but only briefly and not too disturbing. Our air conditioner unit was just too noisy to use of a night. It was a free standing unit and was probably installed as the ducted air con did not work. We've had noisy units before but this one was next level. Hopefully the situation will be addressed asap. Apart from that we were very satisfied with our stay and would highly recommend the hotel to others.
