All Suite El Marques de Antigua

Really nice 👍

The suite is spacious and eco-friendly designed. The architecture uses a lot of skylight and natural ventilation (fans in bedrooms). The deco is charming. The kitchen is nice if you have an extended stay and prefer to cook yourself. The location may be slightly far from the town center for people who don't like to walk (~10 min. by foot), but it doesn't bother us at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although they don't speak English, we were able to communicate with the aid of Google Translate. Very positive experiences indeed!

I understand why staying at the All Suites El Marques can be appealing. It is a huge space for a small fee, however, beware of cockroaches and look out for bugs in your towels. The staff were all very very nice and helpful. There is a language barrier but we used google translate and that worked very well for us. Additionally, the toilet wouldn't flush at times and almost overflow. Staff would come and fix it for us immediately. Also be wary of eating in your room - I dropped food while eating and within minutes, there was a trail of ants that were attracted to it. Overall, the staff is great and the property is no doubt beautiful. The room is very spacious with two floors at a very reasonable price but if you're afraid of bugs/cockroaches, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a very nice location. Far away from the busy El Centro, but close enough to walk to restaurants and shops. The kitchen could use some updates such as more lighting. It's very dark for cooking. Better utensils also would help.

We stayed in room 1. It is on the street and the place vibrates all night with cars and trucks on the cobblestones. No AC. Only a Few windows that open into parking lot which just makes the noise problems worse. Grimey tub with black mold in the grout, I suspect. Broken tub drain. Thank god for earplugs and downers. The rest of Antigua was lovely.

Close to Central Park!

I booked it especially because of the swimming pool and spa, but there is none, so I was very disappointed, but the rest is ok.

Hotel office was not open upon arrival, or even the next morning. They owner/manager shows up when he wants then pounds on your door (even if you are asleep) to get you to go by the office to give a credit card and pay. If you are in the shower, he just knocks louder and louder. Is this anyway to run a hotel? Hotel is too far from the center of town, so its dark and dangerous to walk from town to the hotel at night. Street noise is loud because 4th Ave south is a main road out of town.

Small but nice property, very cute room, great if you just want a place to stay and not all of the normal amenities, like pool, restaurant, etc.
