Nice ambiance sitting area, happy friendly staff

Room was small and access to rooms was quite difficult

Good location for a meet up with friends and overnight stay. Our room was at the back in the annexe, overlooking the gardens, which was peaceful. The bar was nice and modern. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Outside, corridors and rooms could all do with TLC. The bathroom, whilst clean, is starting to show its age. The beds were old wooden frames and a bit creaky. We felt the price was steep for what is really a 3* experience. Breakfast was okay, but not great.

Quirky decoration and location

The rooms are too small. Fortunately we were moved to a larger room after our shower didn’t work, otherwise wouldn’t have stayed in the hotel at all! Also ridiculous lack of thought for things like not being able to plug a hairdryer anywhere near a mirror in first room. The food at dinner was absolutely revolting, couldn’t eat it, was given a refund after asking. Breakfast was underwhelming

Useful location. Beautiful walks & riverside scenery very nearby. Parking available. Loved The Herd restaurant- good food

Great location for a family gathering Garden is lovely.

The bed was very squeaky every time we turned over we woke each other up. The room seemed to be over the kitchen so there was a fair bit of banging but this did stop around 10-10.30pm.

Pleasant staff, lovely garden, good breakfast, some free parking, Indian themed decor

Could do with a paint here and there, security could be upgraded-keys left out on unmanned receptionist table

The staff was excellent! The food was really good.

We asked for a ground floor room, which we got. It was in another building and was the handicapped room. Very worn. Sink had been cracked and poorly repaired. Holes in the curtains. Worn parts in the wallpaper. Not tech friendly. Minutes near the bed.

Rooms had good character, good selection of teas and water etc

There was no plug near the beds. Full English Breakfast was cold, which was disappointing as was really looking forward to eat.

Pillows, very soft and thin. I needed to bolster them with the bath towel underneath. Door to room exceptionally heavy and the door handle/lock was loose. My room was above the kitchen area I believe. There was a lot of door banging early in the morning. There was no sliding shower for hair washing. I don't like water over my head in a shower so didn't use it.

Friendly staff and personal touch. Very helpful. Will stay again.
