Sunday Villa Sirilanna Hotel

We stayed in one of the villa pool suites. Had monkey family visit the pool twice a day. Staff was incredible in service especially since the villas are up top they provide a car that picks you up within minutes. Off the boardwalk so great location as well.

Hotel amenities don’t match description in several ways. There is no restaurant or bar, no pool bar, and no room service. No options for food or drink except in the breakfast room until 10am. All of these things were listed on booking.com (they were even listed in the welcome book when we checked in) but when we arrived we were told that none of them actually exist. We paid for a Junior Suite with a jacuzzi bath - after getting into the bath we realised it didn’t work at all, no bubbles/jets an barely enough hot water to fill it. The bathroom wasn’t particularly clean either. The air conditioning in our room didn’t work so we asked them to fix this, along with the bath. We were told it wasn’t possible to fix either thing, so were moved to a different room that was not the same room type - much smaller and not what we paid for (they moved us from a huge junior suite into a small room with a king size bed). They told us there were no other rooms available. The swimming pool was filthy, so it wasn’t possible to swim (the filter wasn’t even turned on in the morning) - dirt covering the bottom, leaves in the water, dead flies, bugs, and grease all over the surface. When we raised these issues, we were told that other customers have complained the hotel amenities are falsely advertised, and the hotel manager agreed that it was a scam. We spent an hour arguing with the hotel manager about the above, and they refused to offer any sort of refund for the room. The manager offered us a cup of coffee and an airport taxi (which cost us £2 on Bolt/Grab) as compensation - which was obviously laughable, and we refused to accept the gesture! Please listen to all of the negative recent reviews and avoid this hotel at all costs!

The staff at this hotel were incredibly friendly, which made the stay that much better. I loved the pool area and the rooms are really sizeable, same with the bathrooms. It was also located in a lovely area. Would recommend this hotel to others.

Size of room and shower size excellent!

Bed was a little hard but got used to it.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was one of their cheapest but was still huge with a massive spa bath. We didn't try the pool but saw the jacuzzi jets running! Location wise, you can just walk to everything. This was the perfect place after the sleeper train the night before.

Just about enough hot water to fill the (huge) bath, it got there in the end.

Staff were great, very clean, always topping up the water bottles. Great central location, nice small pool for cooling off in and a nice breakfast
