Lochgair Hotel

Fantastic little family hotel. Owner was very welcoming and friendly.

Overnight stop for business. Tidy and clean no complaints. Food was above expectations. Staff ver well attired and looked after a busy restaurant well.

The staff were friendly and customer service focused.

I wanted to get a tool kit out to help with minor repairs, but only because the staff were great, not because the place needs much.

The building is imposing & old, and is charming for those reasons. True, there was a small sign of prior damp on the ceiling of my room: but given the fairly remote region, plus the huge impact of Covid in 2020-21, I think it is remarkable that such hotels managed to survive financially. Also, old buildings pose significant maintenance challenges. Cleanliness was good, staff were excellent, and the value for money was significantly better than other hotels in the area. Would I stay there again? You bet I would! And the sunsets were superb. Well done, Gairloch Hotel.

Stayed for three nights in a twin room with en suite facilities. Everything was very clean and had all the usual tea/coffee available. The rooms decor and bathroom fittings are slightly old fashioned but comfortable. Very friendly and approachable staff who always helped with a smile. Hotel is very close to the beach and central village location with superb views over Gairloch bay. Will definitely by returning.

Slightly dated but friendly welcome, pleasant room and good food.

The staff were friendly. The room was clean and maintained. The bed was on the less comfortable side. Dinner was okay, the Balmoral Chicken equivalent was dry and overcooked. Breakfast was good for buffet purposes.

There was nothing to like. The place was so bad we didn't stay. It looked busy by the car park but it turned out the owner collects cars and they were all his.

There was no sign of any staff apart from the owner. We asked where the bar was and he said there was no bar and you could get drinks at dinner. Why is there a bar shown on the images. There was no atmosphere in the place and we saw no other guests. Despite paying our stay in advance we decided to leave and get alternative accommodation as it was that bad. Seems like a fairy tail the other reviews on the page. We have since spoken to other people about the place and they have said that it is not a hotel but it is the owners own residence.

Stunning property with gorgeous views

The location is lovely but the rooms are dated. We were given the wrong type of room initially but soon rectified however, both rooms were extremely old fashioned. Black mould around the windows and damp in the bathroom. Food was nice. Ordered wine but it wasn't poured for us, just full bottle put on the table. Entertainment was on for the coach trip... this was brilliant. A bonus.
