The Elks Head – Whitfield

I loved this experience! It was clean, quiet, charming and the staff were delightful. Would I stay again though? If I ever get an opportunity to be in the area again, I will absolutely stay here!

Great place , great hosts

Lovely quiet location next to river and good base for Hadrians wall visit. Food, breakfast and evening excellent. Staff brilliant. Room was ok and good access to take dog outside. Would say dogs tolerated rather than welcome as could only use a side room with her rather than bar area in general.

Hotel in lovely setting friendly staff good food but certain areas are tired and in need of refurbishment .

It was convenient for exploring Hadrians Wall and the area. Menu was limited but what was on offer was well done. Breakfast was good.

Received e mail saying did I want en suit or was the private bathroom ok booked en suit replied but only notification received no direct reply. Arrived young women couldn’t find booking had to find someone else, continental breakfast poor.

Had a beautiful time beautiful ppl the staff carnt help you a enough felt like home 👍

Home made Rabbit Stew after a day of rain and low cloud! Perfect. Came away with a Bacon Sandwich as I had to leave early. Great service all around. Didn't know it at the time but the Landord lets Electric Car users charge overnight
