Clean and comfortable

Room was fine, bed comfortable, location good, pub atmosphere good, warm friendly staff

Food was not great, breakfast was poor - badly cooked and cold, staff stretched and very inexperienced but they did their best

The room was nice, if small. The staff was brilliant, service minded, helpful and kind.

Given the sweltering heat outside, the room was predictably hot. I could not get the fan to work (but didn't ask for help)

Was expecting a bit more if I'm being perfectly honest. Knew we hadn't booked into a luxury hotel, but there were too many things in the room which were either broken or missing such as: the shower valve, toilet flush, Nespresso pods for the machine in the room, small occurrences of mould in the bathroom and around the window in the bedroom... Lack of sound-proofing to the adjoining rooms. But on a positive note - the bed was comfortable and clean! And there are some of the best breakfast/coffee places in Cambridge within a 10 minute walk of the hotel.

great location

I stopped here for a short visit-in-transit in Cambridge. I arrived earlier than the agreed check-in time but was kindly allowed into the room 90 minutes early which I'm very grateful for. The room was small but adequate and I appreciated the Nespresso machine. The negatives were really around the state of the bathroom which could do with a refresh: broken toilet seat, broken flush, tiny hand wash basin and boiling hot water which made hand washing very difficult, lots of unvented steam from the hot shower which left the bathroom damp for the whole day. Smack bang outside a lovely Kurdish restaurant.
