Galaxy Hotel

This property should tell prospective customers that its main clientele are Mainland Chinese. I was attracted to this hotel because of the pool facility. I booked the hotel to for a mid-week stay. I went to the pool in mid-afternoon, and couldn't even find a chair in the pool area because it was so full. The changing room was typical of the kind you find in mainland China - wet and dirty. The casino's smoking lounge is full of very weird people. Exchange Chinese currency. Selling China cigarettes and betel nuts. Many gamblers are decked out in clothing that's usually worn by Chinese criminal gangs with matching tattoos and close crop hair styles.

The room is nice with free mini-bar. The water park is amazing and large enough to stay for a whole day.

The biggest features are the water park like pool facility. However, my pet peeve was that the hotel seems very accommodating to smokers. There are many smoking areas. Having said that we did not encounter any rude smokers they do stick to their own areas. Not also happy that they charge ~$60.00 USD per night for adding a cot.

The pool was so nice and the room was perfect. I was able to relax.

We booked three non smoking rooms in total. One of them was filled with the smell of cigarette smoke when we checked in and we had to change rooms. We could also smell cigarette smoke as we walked along the corridor. The hotel needs to be more strict in enforcing its no smoking policy!

It was a very nice staying in Galaxy. The welcome staff let me feel so warm and the receptionist is very kind, she even offered me an early check-in that I never expected, that is grateful.
