Hotel San Blas

The first receptionist who received us was very friendly and kind. The Location was the best of the hotel very convenient for our daily routine.

The pillows were really uncomfortable, hard and too high, the noise level was ok on the first day, on the second day, there were dogs fighting/ howling until 1:20 am or so, so it was really tiring. Breakfast was a little disappointing, no variety of anything, but luckily there were stores nearby so we got fruit and milk and cereal from there to eat it on the next day.

The hotel is just average, nothing special about it. Still the room I had (504) was ok, but the view was limited to another room at 10 m distance. Airco and fridge in the room. Bathroom with shower. Each day towels and soap were changed, even if soap was barely used. I never had really hot water. just lukewarm. There is nothing in the close neighbourhood to eat. You have to walk to Miraflores Kennedy Park (more than 10 blocks) or El Olivar (complicated 5-7 blocks). Breakfast is basic but ok for a couple of days. There is though a different hot dish every morning. They serve lunch and dinner in a separate room (you have to leave the hotel and come back in). Had lunch twice, which was very good (prices in between 32-40 soles per dish). But every mornig, I reckon from 5 am on, there was a noise that woke me up each day. I suppose it is a pump or something similar which prevented me from sleeping, which was very annoying. People who had a front room complained of heavy traffic noise on Arequipa Avenue. Staff are young and rather helpful. I was there for a Seminar for nearly a week. Don t know how much they paid.

Overall I would say it is a good relation between price and service, if you are looking for a place just to have a comfortable sleep. Facilities are not that great at all but well maintain and clean. Reception and overall employees offer are very kind and willing to help. Breakfast is included and Ok. Rooms looking at the avenue can be noisy from 8am because of traffic. Location is good (safe) but not the best, you have to walk 10-12 blocks to park Kennedy for instance if you want to have dinner outside. Hotel has restaurant with good and cheap daily menu.

Lima, San blas: Like most other hotels “I” stayed in Peru, has thin walls, transmitting noise in corridor. Windows letting street noise in. Very helpful reception, who spoke adequate English. Okish breakfast. In Milafores, which is an area 9 km away from Lima Centro (25 Sols taxi ride each way). Called me a taxi when I asked. My next night’s stay was quieter.

Lovely clean and well laid out room. Handy for Miraflores and the beach.Great service from staff who helped us organise trips to the City, beach and Airport. We stayed there twice on our way to and from Cusco.

Overall a nice hotel but varying levels of quality in the rooms! 3rd floor had modernised rooms with hot water. 6 floor had older rooms and no hot water. No heater in room and gaps in windows which meant room was cold! Breakfast was great for the value however

I stayed here at beginning and end of a gadventures tour. Of the four rooms I had two had no hot or just warm water. One had mold around the shower base and they all have strong smell of bug spray. There is no heat at all. Unlike better hotels when I arrived three hours before check in even though they had my room available they wanted more than the cost of the room for a full night in order to go into the room early. The rooms in front of the hotel sound like you are in the middle of a freeway. But the worst is the nauseating bug spray smell not only in the room but in halls They don’t answer phone at front desk either Do not stay here

Stayed here as the start and finish accommodation for the G Adventures Peru tour. The first two nights, we had a small room, with a toilet not working properly, and no hot water, although if left on for 15 minutes, it did warm up, which was a little wasteful at best. The room and hotel generally, were very clean, and the staff , who's English was excellent, were very helpful and considerate. At the end of the trip,we had a further 2 nights accommodation, only this time, a larger room, with bigger, more comfortable beds, although, problems with the water and toilet again. Standards of service and cleanliness were once again very high. Stayed in house for dinner on one occasion, which I would not normally do in this type off establishment, but I would have to say the cooking was simple , but surprisingly good. My only complaint was the very small main course portion, left you still hungry at the end of the meal. The breakfast was also much better for the second visit, with hot scrambled eggs, fresh cut cake selections,hot coffee- which were not available, or not of the same standard on the initial stay. The hotel is well located for 15-20 minute walks to parks, shopping, and city center, and easy for tour pick ups. The rating is based on our second stay, and on that experience, I would happily stay here again.

The hotel was in a nice location. The rooms are very comfortable. The only downside for us was the lack of hot water. Shower was typically cool to warm in the morning and evening. The front desk staff were amazing. Bruce Averos is an amazing young man and made our stay in Lima most memorable.

I stayed at the hotel at the beginning and end of my Peru tour and found the staff very helpful. One young man Bruce Averos was extra helpful in lining up things to do and adding an extra night at the end so that my friends and I had a place to crash before our early morning flight.
