The Tudor Arms Hotel Cleveland - a DoubleTree by Hilton

The room was great. The room was clean.

I was told that this location had either free parking or free breakfast, upon arrival I was told that I was not eligible for either due to having booked through booking.com I did not appreciate getting woken up at 8 fucking 30 in the morning to see if I'd left yet. That was unbelievable. So if I hadn't been bamboozled out of amenities and had not been woken up at 830 am without requesting to be, it would have been a fine.

The Tudor Arms is, in fact, closer to a two-star than a three-star hotel. Its lobby looks more like an SRO than a welcoming hotel lobby. One of the two elevators was intermittently out of service, the rooms are barely passable, and mine was left uncleaned or un-resupplied for three days! The location is across a long, lonely boulevard from a high school, with no cafe or restaurant in sight. It is near Case Western Reserve University and the outstanding Cleveland Museum of Art, which is a plus. Surely there are better places to stay for the same price.

Staff was rude beds were hard they added hidden breakfast fees after I checked out

I booked this thinking it would be a very nice refurbished old hotel however it was anything but. The place was not clean at all. The restaurant was not open half of the time. Heating and air was terrible.

Our decision to make reservations at Tudor Arms Cleveland were based heavily on the pictures and the fact that it is labeled as a "Doubletree By Hilton." When coming in from the street, the elevator did not work and no sign to inform us that we would need assistance due to elevator being out of service. Had there been a notice of non-operation we would have asked our "Lyft" driver to help us. This was an important factor for us as we were in Cleveland to visit the Cleveland Clinic and walking up stairs was something that was difficult, especially with luggage. The interior greeting room looked as though the floor hadn't been swept in weeks. The gal working the front desk was so nice and personable, but unfortunately her presence was overshadowed by the dark lighting and musty smell of the lobby. The "dining room" which consisted of 2 booths and 4 or 5 tables, was closed at 5PM but the bar was open. There were definitely no chandeliers or linen table clothes. Maybe the pictures others posted were from private parties or room rental events. This "historical location" might have a lot of history, but it definitely lacked in cleanliness. The crack and separation in the wooden floor that went the entire length of the room could've been easily overlooked if the room had been clean. The side of the bed was filthy and looked as though it hadn't been swept in weeks. The same was true in the bathroom. There was dirt visible on all surfaces through out the entire room. We opted to find other arrangements just down the block as neither of us actually felt comfortable at this hotel.

The staff member at the desk when I checked out did not even say thank you, in other occasions, when I went out and came in to the hotel he saw me, but never greeted me. This is a customer service focused job. Obviously, being unfriendly, looking that I owed him money, this is not the right job for him.

The room we wound up in was very nice, very comfortable

First room we had , refrigerator didnt work, and although we had 2 TV's only one had a remote and was hooked up to service. Someone removed the cable from the tv to the wall Also first room the sofa was covered in stains Also I booked and paid for the room a week prior to arriving , only to find out they were all taken

The cookie was good

No air conditioning. Because I was not informed by the third party booking company he said I could cancel my reservation and receive refund in 5-7 days. It is midnight, I’m 4 hours from home with no place to go and no extra money to get a room somewhere else. The parking is not easy to find in the dark and the parking is not lighted. The attendant reluctantly retrieved a fan but only after I requested. Overall the room was clean enough except the bathroom. It looked like they swirled the toilet and called it good enough. No way was I getting in that shower.
