SBH Taro Beach Hotel

Ich fühle mich in diesem Hotel sehr wohl.Habe nach 2022 das Hotel das 2. Mal gebucht und es nich bereut. Direkter Zugang zum langen, feinen Sandstrand, nettes Personal, bei Nachfragen wird gerne geholfen und allgemein eine sehr ruhige Anlage. Sicher gibt es etwas Renovierungsbedarf an manchen Stellen, stört mich persönlich aber nicht. Das Gesamtpaket passt für mich, ich fühle mich wohl dort. Für allein Reisende wäre eine Lösung zur Kennzeichnung des Platzes beim Abend essen und in der Bar schön. Mir ist es des öfteren vorgekommen, dass nach dem Gang zum Büfett mein Tisch zwischenzeitlich neu eingedeckt wurde. Spricht ja eigentlich für das motivierte Personal. In der Bar war nach dem Getränke holen mein Platz durch andere Gäste belegt. Eventuell ein Kartensystem oder ähnliches? Vielen Dank für einen wunderschönen Urlaub!

The Hotel is ideally situated with direct access to the beach and 5min walk from a bus stop with frequent connections. All the staff is very friendly indeed and they try very hard to get everything right. The rooms are spacious, if a little tired, but there is a good sized fridge in all of them, which is great. Nice balcony with unobstructed sea view.

Unfortunately too many things did not work out. The food (although plenty of choice) is bland and only few local items offer real flavour. During my last stay, you had to pay for internet access in your room, and it worked. Now it is free and it does not work. A combination of holiday with a little bit of "home-office" is not possible. They congratulated me 6 days late for my birthday and the promised bottle of bubbly never turned up.

The location was great and our room was right in front of the beach. The restaurant had a good variety of food and the quality was overall good.

1) When we arrived the restaurant was about to close. There is only one flight per day, they could keep it open a little longer considering that clients have no other choice. 2) The overall look and feel of the place is quite dated and lots of areas are in desperate need of maintenance. This place has been neglected for too long and I started doubting about the safety of a few spots at some point. 3) Our bathroom had a dome skylight broken and the bathroom was a total mess. The hotel sent someone to clean up but we had to wait until next morning for the repairs. 4) Our room wasn't at all like in the pictures and looked like a motel from the 80s. 5) Clients smoking everywhere outside of designated smoking areas and nobody really cares about it even if you have kids. 6) Most of the staff wasn't freindly at all, some of them were actually angry at people. The only exception was just one excellent lady at the reception who spoke multiple languages and was really super helpful with many things.

It is absolutely not a 4 star hotel, I’m not sure who and when checked this hotel for the rating Very slow WiFi even near the reception and you will never get it in the room Old furniture and everything looks very old especially in the bath room No tea for dinner No kettle, fridge and water bottles in the room No AirCondition in the room Absolutely non-comfortable beds and pillows Many questions to cleaning: why these workers don’t want really to clean room?? They just adjust toilet paper and shower soap, clean the floor, change towels and that’s it. Never wipe the dust. Also strange that cleaning sometimes can happen at 4pm or 5pm?! Why so late? Why other hotels do this during early mornings? Also this place is absolutely noisy for family with kids: we had the room near the reception and I was surprised first when at 5am a delivery of goods or food to a restaurant arrived, I’m not exactly sure, but they rumbled all morning and it was impossible to sleep, and so on several times a week. Why are you doing this??? Are you not sure that your clients want to sleep at 5am?? We closed our window but it was noisy also, really really noisy. Unbelievable. Laundry near the room window and almost all the time it was really noisy. Dirty plates in the restaurant: sometimes you just spend time to search between plates to see which of them is clean. One day my daughter took one plate and it was piece of pancake under it. So I’m really sad that I chose this hotel, definitely will not recommend it.

Es war eine sehr angenehme Woche im Taro Beach und es war soweit immer alles sauber geputzt. Teils ein bisschen renovationsbedürftig aber das hat mich nicht weiter gestört. Das Personal war sehr nett und hilfsbereit! -- ausser beim Empfang dürften sie ihre Mitarbeiter besser schulen, was es heisst Gastfreundlichkeit und Respekt gegenüber dem Gast entgegenzubringen... Ein Beispiel: Man hat mir beim Abschied quasi den Zimmerschlüssel aus der Hand gezerrt ohne ein DANKE oder eine Frage "wie hat es ihnen gefallen"... Das fand ich sehr schaade. Auch als ich am Schluss bei diesem Herrn eine Frage hatte zu irgend einem Anliegen, hatte er nur wiederwillig und respektlos geantwortet und war nicht an einer Problemlösung interessiert, sondern hat mich quasi zur Seite gedrängt und wollte den nächsten Gast empfangen! Das fand ich eine Frechheit- dabei hatte ich nur eine Frage zu einem Thema womit ich die Kosten dazu nicht ganz verstanden habe, das war alles.. Und ich war sehr höflich zu diesem Herrn! So einen Abschied fand ich sehr schaade, da ich eigentlich mit guter Laune aus dieser Woche vom Taro Beach, tschüss sagen wollte... --Aber ja, dafür hat mich ein anderer Herr (mit weissen Haaren) bei der Begrüssung sehr herzlich empfangen und hat mir bei Anliegen & Fragen immer geholfen. Vielen Dank dafür! Ansonsten ist die Anlage sehr schön und direkt am Meer ist der Hammer! Auch das Essen war gut und man hatte immer eine grosse Auswahl zur verfügung! Ich werde sicher mal wieder kommen:)

A man broke in our room during the night, this is an extremely serious situation, as no one would ever expect to be so unsafe in an hotel of this category, and getting robbed or be victim of aggression in their own room while they sleep, even less women travelling alone. I am reporting below the email we sent to the hotel manager to which we had no chance to speak with despite our efforts and who preferred to ignore it (despite confirmation from the hotel staff the email was received), as it is self explicatory of the situation, The manager behaviour makes it clear this is a recurring issue and not an issue they intend to resolve, given that no one from reception to security to the police were surprised of it happening.
