Hotel Engelbert

We booked into the hotel Englert for our 2nd anniversary. (Taking my mum and sister for a holiday too) We arrived very late on Saturday night as our plane arrived late in Weeze and got lost trying to find our hotel in the dark with heavy rain and wind. On arriving we were met by a man at reception who didn't seem very happy to greet wet tired travellers we were given our room keys and checked for a kettle for a hot drink, but the hotel didn't supply them in the rooms due to safety so he told us. When we asked if we could get some hot drinks were told we had to pay for them which was quite unexpected but needs must we got 4 coffees. Sunday morning we had breakfast it was continental (8 € for an all you can eat) which was lovely Mary was exceptionally lovely and very helpful. Emin was happy to make us coffees in the evening on our return from shopping and sightseeing also very nice and helpful. They fixed the radiator in my mum's room and we're happy to give us directions or bus or tram numbers. It was a nice place to stay the beds were very comfy and I loved the pillow, (thank you Mary for telling us where we could get one just like it and giving us directions to the shop) Would stay here again as it's not far from kettiwigger strase subway 2 stops into dusseldorf hbf station an 4 stops to old town of Aldstat. Lots of places to eat a variety of foods and lots of friendly helpful people

Arrived at hotel. No facilities to make tea/ coffee. So visiters be aware of this as Germany does not not provide kettles etc in rooms. Told coffee/ tea can be made, was not told of extra charges for tea coffee when provided. Was stung with bill when leaving. Rooms were cleaned no complaints there. Very nice lady on desk very helpful and pleasent. Tram tickets available at desk at good price so on and off transport very easy. Room we stayed in had hotel sign light shinning through window no blind to block light out. Other than that nice holiday.

I spent four nights here last month. For the price it really was a bargain. The bed was one of the comfiest I've ever slept in, and the single room on the top floor was surprisingly roomy, and spotlessly clean. The hotel is a little out of town, but its only 3 minutes walk from a U bahn and tramway stop, and the hotel sells a kombiticket valid on all public transport for miles around for only €2.50 a day, excellent value. The shower head was faulty in my ensuite, which although reported wasn't properly fixed, the street itself is somewhat dark and not nice to walk down alone, and the lift is more like a coffin (even the official 3 person limit seems optimistic), but like I say for the price (which incidentally includes free WiFi) you couldn't really ask for more.

Hotel Good Service & quality for money near city centre and near Underground so ideal for public transport and great Portuguese Restaurant near by the best

In a very odd top floor room. Plenty of space but bed somewhat uncomfortable.

This hotel is supper small, has no AC, and in the morning outside of the hotel is as loud as if you are in central station. If you have other choice I would recomend to go with it.

Basic hotel worth the price, clean and tidy and close to trains.

This hotel is worth much more than it costs. It is not a luxury hotel but it is beautiful, comfortable and clean. All the staff are courteous and considerate. The breakfast is great and plentiful. Upon our arrival we were handed, included in the price, a free ticket for all means of transportation, including the train that would take us to Weeze Airport, 60 km away. All for a price among the lowest found on the Internet. I highly recommend it, and if I return to Dusseldorf go back here for sure. Thank You!

Lovely friendly staff, very helpful. Location was really close to tube station, very convenient and we had free travel on buses and trains. 2 stops to Dusseldorf centre. Lovely and quiet at night. The room we had was huge, very comfortable.
