Pension Stella

We were booked into Stella's for just one night, unfortunately we didn't get to stay there as we were double booked, and were moved to Hotel Lodos which was ok, but have to say Stella's looked so much better. As it was only one night and the lovely George n Stella were very apologetic and very very helpful, it didn't cause us s problem, we still got to have breakfast at Stella's which was great, and George is a genuinely lovely , helpful and informative man, he even picked us up from the airport and delivered us to the port free of charge. Don't be put off booking here I am putting our double booking down to a genuine error, had we been staying longer we might not have been so forgiving !!!

Excellent service from the hosts who can meet you from the ferry port if you let them know which ferry you are on. The hotel is 15 mins walk into Thira although island buses do stop on the main road 2 mins away and timetables were posted in the hotel. A laid back and relaxing place to stay and a beautiful island.

Very clean premises. George and Stella were super. Provided us with baked goods as it was Easter week. George drove us to the ferry. Lovely welcoming people and I would certainly recommend the pension to my friends.

Pension Stella was a great place to stay. Impeccably clean, quiet, cozy and comfortable. A bit of a hike to Fira town, but the bus stop is half a block away. There are restaurants, bakeries, markets, car & bike rental shops, all right close by. George really takes care of his customers. From the airport pickup, to rides into town, to making arrangements for rentals if needed. He gives all the information regarding bus schedules, sights to see, places to go. This was one of the best places we stayed at on our whole trip.

I cannot really descirbe the hostipality of George & Stella in words - true epitome of Greek cordial behaviour - we enjoyed our stay thoroughly and would definitely like to go back !!!

Pension Stella is a modest but perfectly situated hotel in Kartaderos in Santorini. Run by George and his wife Stella, I cannot express adequately, the length to which these lovely people will go, to make your stay as happy as possible. We felt as though we had come to stay with friends, such was the hospitality and warmth of George and Stella. George picked us up from the airport and returned us there 11 days later at no extra charge. There is a kitchen for the use of guests which is available from early morning until late evening for the prep of meals or just toasties, if that's what you want. The room was cleaned and the towels changed every day by Stella who never seems to stop working! The balcony was a welcome place to sit enjoying a glass of something before going out to one of the many restaurants close by. The pool area is pristine with plentiful sunbeds. We had free wifi in our room and George has a computer in the lobby for the use of guests. There is a bakery (50mtrs) just up the the road which sells fabulous filled rolls (and amazing cakes!) ideal for a picnic and a supermarket a few more metres on, for everything else, including water. Fira centre is about 20 minutes walk away & the bus stop with buses to almost everywhere on the island just opposite the bakery 50 metres from the hotel. We rented a quad bike for a day & a car for another two days for exploring the island and also used the bus which was comfy & frequent. Would we go back there? In a heartbeat!
