Pension Stella

Our host George was very accommodating and offered to pick us up from the airport at a late hour. Our room was very clean, and Pension Stella is a 5-minute walk to the Karterados bus station and an amazing bakery called Erotokritos (a must-try when in Santorini - I got breakfast here everyday). One can also walk from Pension Stella to 'downtown' Fira which offers a lot of activities, shopping, and great dining spots.

Pension was in a quiet neighborhood a 15 minute easy walk to Fira. George & Stella were both extremely helpful in answering all of our questions & in making arrangements for excursions. George picked us up & returned us to the port. They are both hard workers & so kind to their guests. The breakfasts were delicious! Thank you so much!

Stella was so warm and welcoming. Helped us with whatever we needed. For a few extra euros she even made us breakfast in her home. Accomadations were clean, bright, and comfortable if not elaborate.

We loved our stay at Pension Stella. With us arriving unannounced to the port, we called the hotel and they offered to come pick us up within ten minutes. Our room was clean, and cleaned every day by the hard working Stella, a lovely, kind lady. They met a lot of our extra needs by calling rental companies they knew to pick us up right at the front door. Our last day was complicated as we had to check out at 11:00 am but our ferry didn't leave until 8:30 PM. George and Stella let us keep our bags in the hotel and george drove us down to meet our ferry in the evening, they also let us lounge by the pool all afternoon even though we had checked out. ,they often ask how your day was, where you visited and give very great touring tips. And lastly, the location was PERFECT. It is right in the middle of santorini a 2 minute ATV ride to Fira and a 10 minute ATV ride to Oia (the gorgeous most popular place) We loved our area because it was full of bakeries, restaurants, gas stations all within walking distance, and it was a quick ride to each town. We explored the north and south and east side of the island without venturing far from our hotel, no problem. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. Stella was helpful in other ways by offering to iron my husbands shirt before a night out, and by stopping her room cleaning routine to help me bandage up and dress my foot after I scraped it on the way home. All your needs-met here! Don't miss out on this place and its great hosts.

We had booked a hotel in Oai but they cancelled us 4 days before the trip without any substitution offering. I felt lucky to come across Pension Stella and it's high ratings. George was wonderful and was waiting at the airport for us. He offered many rides, gave us suggestions for things to do. Drove us to Santos winery the first evening when we were jet lagged. We had the perfect evening there, gorgeous gorgeous sunset view. Breakfast was very good for the price. Hotel rooms are clean and Stella was very accommodating. Room was cleaned each day with fresh towels. George and Stella helped us arrange ATV's and it was brought right to us. Very nice stay in Santorini for the price. Thank you George and Stella.......

Reviews of Stella were 'stellar', particularly in reference to the warmth and hospitality of the owners. We found that they were no friendlier, if not colder, than other budget hotel owners or staffers. Location was excellent for walking to Thira for any shopping and eating. Breakfast was adequate and there were no other meals. It is best to leave the hotel, meet Greek inhabitants and visit as many Islands as possible.

2 nights at pension Stella left us a great impression - George will go out of his way to offer services in the most caring and sincere way. We learned about their family and treated us like the same. Hard working couple keeping the place clean and welcoming for all. Ask for great rates for car/atv rentals, great advice for activities, and even a pickup from the airport.

This was a last minute holiday for us and we had limited choice for our budget, but this hotel was a great find. we spent 2 nights in Pension Stella in Karthedos, this was a nice base for exploring the centre of Santorini. Pension Stella is a decent half hour walk from Fira ( the capital) but there is a bus stop at the top of the road. our road trip recommendations are Monolothos beach, locals use it. Kamari beach good but lots of tourists. ( Beds are free if you eat in the taverna's) . Art Space is a must visit, fabulous winery restored in the caves. George will collect you and take you to the ferry/ airport and also does a lovely breakfast if you ask and you can sit on their private balcony and look at the view over the village towards the sea

Pension Stella is a great place to use as a base in Santorini. Only 15 mins walk to centre of town and very close to bus stops to main beaches. Nice restaurants and shops nearby. We stayed in a lovely modern clean room with balcony looking over the pool. The one thing that made Pension Stella special to us was the kindness and helpfulness of the owners George and Stella who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable including free transfers from the airport and to the ferry port when we left. Highly recommended.

Great staff very friendly, email George in advance for a free lift from port otherwise taxi was 30euro person. Walking distance to fira. Clean basic rooms. Nice pool.
