The Christiania Mountain & Spa Resort

We have just had our second stay three week stay in two years at the Christiania & it did not disappoint. We were given a very warm welcome back. The staff are all very attentive, pleasant & helpful. Our room had the most stunning Matterhorn view & was pristinely clean & well equipped. The breakfast choices are varied & great quality. Whilst we did not eat in the restuarant every night, as we choose to eat lunch in the mountain restaurants, the meals we had there were exceptional. In fact, my husband said the Chateaubriand was the best meal he had ever eaten in his life - he's 71 ! The spa/pool facilities are wonderful. We will definitely book again for next year,

Great location. gorgeous views. We loved the heated indoor kids pool and the kids indoor play area. everyone working was very sweet. Great stay.

Whenever I go to Zermatt, I always try to stay at the Christiania Hotel. It is a wonderful hotel with truly personalized attention from the entire staff. Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming. I would especially like to mention Kiri at the front desk, who is always incredibly kind and attentive. She takes care of every request with such warmth and professionalism that it really makes you feel at home. I highly recommend this hotel. The spa area, the pool, and the saunas are a special treat after a long day of skiing. It is the perfect way to relax and recover. The breakfast is also excellent — very complete and delicious. What I particularly appreciate is how personally they treat guests and how attentive they are to any special requests you might have. I am very much looking forward to staying at Christiania again whenever I can take a couple of days off and return to Zermatt.

For more than three decades the Christiania Mountain & Spa has been our preferred host for a yearly ski trip to Zermatt. Its location (close to the Sunnega ski station), the cosy atmosphere, the superb service, great breakfasts, tasty dinners and the beautiful spa are all (and more) than one can wish for a perfect ski holiday. Kudos to the family Franzen!

Excellent location and very friendly staff. Spa and pool make a huge difference in the stay experience. Breakfast varietty while good, could be improved for a hotel of this standard.

Little on the pricey side but absolutely worth it for a special occasion

Great location near lifts, short walk to the restaurants and center. Quick ride to the train. Staff is friendly, facilities and breakfast are nice. This single room is by the elevator and stairs and is a little loud. You can hear the person next door in the bathroom through the wall. My biggest complaint is that the shower is terrible: the stall is tiny, and the handheld shower head has so much pressure it can’t rest in the cradle, no matter what you try. You’re forced to hold while trying to manage the squeeze bottle of soap/shampoo. Otherwise the spa is nice but small for the number of people. The hot tub is just warm, but massive.
