Doi Tung Lodge

Next to the visit of the Mae Fah Luang Garden you can also visit the Royal Villa on the top of the hill. Tickets are the same price as for the garden -90 baht- but the interior of the villa is disappointing. Most rooms are empty. Could have gone in for free if I could have identified myself as senior citizen. But left ID in hotel... In other words: garden...top visit. Villa...forget it.

My wife and I stayed here one night on 17 Jan. We was impressed with the decoration of our room. It is spacey, clean and well designed. The beddings are quite good. The wifi is strong. The breakfast is excellent.

It was a bit remote and far from the town but was very fantastic! Room was not very special but the view from room, and particularly from the restaurant every morning was amazing! We were literally above the cloud! I really enjoyed staying at Doi Tung Lodge.

Stayed a couple of nights in August. There is little in the way of facilities but the room was very good (it looked brand new) and everything was smooth. I especially like to see a room with a proper size fridge and not a tiny mini bar - important here as this is pretty isolated and good to stop at the 7-11 to stock up before arriving. Probably one of the best views to enjoy your breakfast too anywhere. Perfect place to base yourself to explore Chiang rai for a couple of nights. Recommended.

Après avoir visiter les jardins et la maison de la princesse mère s sommes arrivés un Doi Tung . Nous avons apprécie la visite de l maison et surtout de comprendre ce que cette princesse avait apporter a son pays et à çettecregion. Les jardins ont magnifiques , tres bien entretenus.. L hotel est tres confortable , chambres lumineuses et spacieuses . Le petit déjeuner se prend sur la terrasse face aux montagnes. Rien a redire.

The Royal Villa is a fabulous attraction. It is a villa of the Royal Family. This is the home of King Rama 9 mother. Being a Royal facility no shorts or sleeveless shirts. They have baggie pant with draw strings. It is a bit of a hike to the villa, but it is all worth it. They have a self guided tour with narration headsets. Excellent information on the villa and some Royal Family history. The whole complex also has a huge lovely garden. Also the hall of inspiration an exhibition on the life and works of King Bhumibol.

This was tremendous , peaceful tranquility and beautiful... some amazing old artifacts around and tasty coffee .. the rooms are located below the Recption and restaurant... this is out of the way .. but that's the whole idea.. highly recommend

A relaxed and clean place, recently 100 % renovated, I think we are the first or maybe the second guest in the room. Good place to stay for a night. The restaurant is the only thing on the grounds. Don't drive to the main road for dinner, or coffee. All is closed at 18:00. Just stay in the hotel restaurant. Simple but good kitchen.. If you want a table with a view make a reservation otherwise you will sit in the middle or look at the parking.. On my picture you see the night view

As it is very high place, the room was so very nice and the staff gave a great time. The weather is so cold and it is a good place to spend time and we need to go back again for relax and refresh our mind I hope to c u again
