Doi Tung Lodge

Stayed here for only one night in one of the deluxe rooms (been to Doi Tung for a few times already but it was our stay here at Doi Tung Lodge), our stay was very pleasant. The room is well decorated and very comfortable with all the amenities you need (with hairdryer). The staffs were lovely and helpful. There are constructions going on for the superior rooms building behind our deluxe rooms building but it was not the trouble at all. The renovation should be completed before winter so this could be the perfect place once done. The breakfast was amazing, huge portion and tasty as well. It's also super convenience to visit the Doi Tung royal villa and its garden (you can visit the place before tourists came and you get a very private tour there all to yourself). Highly recommended for this place.

I decides to go to Doi Tung lodge because we have a plan for travelling in The Mae Fah Luang Royal Villa. and I found that there's such a rear story about this place which involve with the royal family of Thailand.This infomations are from the website, During the early days of the Doi Tung Development Project, the late Princess Mother would spend months at the Doi Tung Royal Villa to oversee the operation of the Project. Occasionally, His Majesty the King and other members of the royal family would pay her a visit. A new villa was built in the area to accommodate the royal entourage and employees of the Project. However, the new villa was only completed in 1997, after her death. It was turned into a tourist lodging following the gracious permission of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The proceeds from this enterprise go to the maintenance of the lodging and other amenities. The Doi Tung Lodge provides another source of jobs; local people learn the hospitality business, including aspects such as reception, services, food and other management work. It offers local people an additional job alternative without having to leave their home in search of work elsewhere providing a good source of income and stability. For my experience for thia,the place was really naturalistic with the very plentiful forrest.Event the superior room were really common for the facilities but you will feel and touch with the nature around you.There're not much a special service provide for the guest,the staff was do their duties.There're not many staffs so if there's any problem happen you will kind of easy for pissing off but luckily no problem happen to me. The break fast was an a la carte set with the 2 choices of American Breakfast or Thai traditional recipe.

We stayed here for a night. It is a bit expensive but we purchased the coupon from ensogo.com which was half price. The hotel is in the property of the royal. Hotel itself use to be the residence of King's mother's staff such as doctors, nurses and others. The room is comfortable. It is nice if you arrive to the hotel in the afternoon. You will received 4 entranced tickets to the garden, the villa, the museum and the arboretum which is about 12 kms away. So what we did was we went to the arboretum then drove back and see the museum. Then stay in the hotel enjoy the view and nice cool weather. It is nothing much to do in the evening as everything around close about 4 pm. So before you get here load some snacks or food as nothing much sale here. The next day we had free breakfast which was ok then we went to the garden and the villa near the hotel. It was nice to spend time in the morning in the garden and the villa.

This is very reserved for hotel guest to have more time visiting flower garden. In the morning, we can enjoy as our private garden. There's an Doi Tung Cafe providing yummy bakery with freshly brewed Doi Tung coffee. We have tested them for every visit. My kids love the carrot cake and strawberry cake. Morning breakfast was very nice with very good smoggy view. Kids love the sausages.

I went to Chinag Rai for the first time and I stayed at Doi Tung lodge for a night. The hotel located near the Royal Garden. The room was average.the room offered fantastic views of moutains. The restaurant of the hotel is far away from the rooms and lobby around 3 km. You can walk there but the hotel also offers a shuttle bus to take you to the restaurant where is loated very close to te royal villa and garden. Unfotunately that I stayed there in the summer time the flowers not bloom as in the winter. The room wa nice ans simple with a great view and close to the tourist attractions.

Good location and quiet place . Good food at the terrace restaurant with good view at good price. Nice place if u are here around and lazy to get other place for the night Hotel room nice but price pretty expensive

My friend and I got a room with a fabulous view of moutains and some villages. At night, we enjoyed watching bright stars. The air was so fresh. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast included with the room was average. There was a van transporting us to and from Doi Tung Project, allowing us to visit Suan Mae Fah Luang early when there weren't a lot of people there. We'll stay here again.

Doi TUng Lodge is a serene, quiet and peaceful place. Rooms are simple, basic yet very clean. We had a comfortable stay, Enjoy Beautiful mountain view above the clouds which is extremely breathtaking. Air is pure clean and refreashing. We had our dinnerat the restaurant which is ok but portion is small. Simple breafast was included, Overall. we has a pleasant experience in DOITUNG.

Doi Tung is a attraction in itself and this hotel is situated right smack in the middle of it. To give this place a context, you have to consider the attractions of Doi Tung itself. THere is the King's Mother's Hall of Inspiration where the history of Doi Tung is explained, and how she changed the future of the people there by bringing in new projects that help the people to sustain their livelihood. This lodge is another example of how the people could earn an income besides growing opium. THere is also Mae Fah Luang, gorgeous gardens full of flowers. And also the royal palace of the King's Mother with a self-guided tour on her life, her inspirations and her wishes for the people. You will take a full day just going through these attractions so the lodge itself is very convenient. We arrived on the evening and had dinner at the restaurant, where they serve produce planted on Doi Tung itself. Doi Tung is famous for its coffee and macadamia nuts, and also other local produce. My favourite was the deep fried dried mushroom. Gorgeous view of the city from the restaurant. THe rooms itself does not have a view, but it's comfortable and has everything you need for a good night's sleep and a pleasant stay. YOu don't go to Doi Tung to stay in the hotel room as the sights and attractions are the main reason. There is hot water and cable TV and comfortable beds and i was happy. When heading to the attractions, we went up early to park our rented car. Breakfast is also served at a restaurant near the attractions. By 8 am the carpark is full of local tourists, so us staying there ensured we had a good carpark spot. I would not recommend staying more than a night there since the attractions can be completed within the day.
