Rooms of excellent quality even though going through renovations

All the day team a*, slight delay in getting access after hours, also potentially with the expansion consider after hours drinks

Ideas no criticism

We were in the Milton room. I didn't like the film on the window stopping you looking out, the constant white noise of the nearby extractor fan and the occasional smell of cooked fat coming from the extractor fan if we had the window open.

The hotel was very nice indeed, an old family home built in 1793, the rooms were large and airy and the beds were very comfortable. Lovely setting too.

Attractive listed building with good car parking on site. Good food at breakfast and dinners were excellent. Lovely environment.

We booked well in advance and on arrival we were allocated the "Snug" bedroom which was not fit for purpose as it was so, so small, window was permanently closed and the glass was frosted so no views. Very difficult for two of us to move around in the room. It should never be classed as a double room as it is a single room size. It was an insult to us. The manager tried hard but failed to relocate us but, on the next night we were moved to a "proper double bedroom". We were compensated for our unsatisfactory first night which was very fair - thank you. Service in the dining room was slow as apparently they were short staffed.

The bathroom didn’t have railings or bath mat. My mother slipped as she was getting out of the shower reaching for the towel.
