The Fitzwilliam Hotel

Staff are excellent and friendly and credit to the Fitzwilliam Hotel.

After reading the reviews I made sure to ask reception for a quiet room away from the bar. So when I came back later in the evening and I could hear karaoke in the bar I was happy that the rooms I booked were on the other side of the hotel. The hotel was fine, it has a nice clean carpark. The rooms were as expected clean and basic. The shower was nice and they give complimentary soap. Staff were friendly and helpful. It's a basic hotel with a good price. There is an Asda next door just a 3 minute walk away plus lots of other shops nearby. Easy access to Sheffield.

Our remote was not working. Walls are a bit thin.

The smell in the corridor outside my room was terrible, the window wouldn't open even though it was 30 degree heat outside...I asked a member of staffs to look into both things but nothing was done...I have stayed a lot at this hotel over 6 years and this has to be the worst stay...the towels were like rags, the tea and coffee, sugar e5c just thrown on a tray...so very disappointing

Location was fine for where we needed to be.

Rooms very disappointing. Hotel was extremely warm, carpet and chair in room was dirty. Base of bed was torn, radiator dirty, towels were small bath towels and we had to ask for clean ones next day. About 2 adult hangers in room and the noise from music downstairs and then people outside hotel well past midnight arguing etc. All in all not an experience to be repeated.
