"Not suitable for Vegetarians"

5.0

The evening meal selection, price and quality was really excellent. Great atmosphere in the bar.

Room smelt of smoke but as it was a pleasant evening we opened the windows. The main issue was : After being told when checking in that there would be a wide range of vegetarian options at breakfast eg bacon, sausage, haggis plus handing in our breakfast pre-orders at about 7pm the night before with "Vegetarian" clearly written... we were exceedingly disappointed the next morning at breakfast to be told NO vegetarian bacon, sausage or haggis was available!!!!! The hotel is also up for sale with the owner seemingly living abroad.

"Wasn’t so bad just for one night last minute but would most probably avoid next time we are in the area."

5.0

Food was good in the restaurant in the evening but we booked breakfast for 8am and it was 30 mins late although it was good quality and hot when it come to the table.

The room was a bit shabby and the tv didn’t work although that wasn’t a problem really. The plug in the bathroom gurgled most of the night even with the plug in. Could do with a proper clean throughout it just felt a bit grubby.

"Useful location for the Driving Test Centre."

5.0

Great location and easy parking, clean bed linen.

Window sills were filthy but the worst thing was the decor - a beautiful old building butchered by garish colour schemes, badly applied, cheap and tacky chintz and grey everywhere. Whomever did this place up should be locked up for crimes against design.

"Comfortable"

9.0

The friendly staff. The food: we enjoyed a delicious evening meal & tasty breakfast. Great choice of drinks at the bar. The Crown was in a perfect location just off A75, for easy access to Cairnryan ferry port. It is a comfortable pub with rooms. Our twin room was small with a small en suite. It was a bit dated, but value for money.
