Great hotel, lovely rooms and helpful staff. Amazing breakfast!

Beautiful boutique hotel in a quiet neighborhood of Stellenbosch just minutes from restaurants and shops. The gardens and pool areas were lovely, there are multiple sitting rooms and public spaces inside and out to sit and relax. The room was gorgeous with a comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. The breakfast was generous and absolutely delicious. The staff were all friendly, warm and helpful.

I cannot recommend the River Manor hotel more. It is 5/5 on every account. Located near Stellenbosch centre, it’s a convenient walking distances to several restaurants and shops. It is about a 20 minute car ride to the wineries. The hotel itself is gorgeous. Lovely decor, pristinely clean. The staff could not be more friendly and welcoming. The included breakfast is lovely. I would stay here again in an instant and would encourage anyone visiting the area to do the same.

A lovely relaxed boutique hotel, far enough out of the town to be peaceful and to park the car, but close enough to walk in 15 minutes. The rooms are spacious, comfortable (although a few more plug sockets and a desk/table would be great). Breakfast is a delight, half buffet, half served – always well presented by lovely helpful staff. Sun loungers are fine, but really need a few more as there are only four for eight nine rooms. Pool is lovely – or rather will be when the filter is fixed!

The hotel is beautiful I’ve given it 5 stars as the issue with the size of our room is purely down to us. Our fault for not reading room descriptions when booking we booked a studio room but should have read description thoroughly . Room was very compact with sliding door to very small shower room. Only one hook in the bathroom none in the bedroom. Little room to store our suitcases. Toiletries smell divine . Not keen on the water saving bucket in the shower . Switch for bathroom light was by the room entrance which is not ideal if you need to go in the night but when I spoke to reception we were given a chargeable light to use at night. Food excellent and staff were outstanding . Room facilities were good including lovely gowns , nice quality towels turn down service a nice touch Breakfast very good and ambiance of the hotel lovely. Pool area lovely and relaxing Would we return yes but would make sure we booked a much better room. Having said that the rate we paid for the studio room was a very fair price especially as it included breakfast.

Characterful hotel in quite area. Very friendly, welcomiong staff. Relaxing garden and pool area where we enjoyed our very good breakfasts. A short walk away from the restaurants and sights of Stellenbosch. We had a great time and would stay here again when we next visit.

Lovely boutique hotel with great service and amenities (2 pools) Great position close to all amenities. Rooms are very comfortable. Stayed here twice and have no hesitation in recommending and returning. We love the little touches like cake and drinks in the afternoon. Just love the place - roll on Jan 2926 when we are looking return. Also stayed at the Hermanus property - another quality property, fantastic position on the front and equally great staff

Overall the hotel was excellent with 2 lovely clean pools. Our studio room was clean but small with a very small bathroom which needed upgrading. Excellent breakfast and very helpful staff. Good location with many restaurants nearby.

Lovely 5* hotel in a quiet street in busy Stellenbosch. Room was modern, well appointed, with comfortable King bed and high quality linens. Breakfast is included (you can eat outside around the pool) but the service was really slow and not as polished or efficient as one expects from such a lovely property. On the plus side, a quick walk to good coffee shops, restaurants and the best gelato (Moro).

Our second time and we do like it a lot. The team are lovely and welcomed us back like old friends. Super convenient for strolling in to town. Lovely property, esp the garden and pools. Very peaceful. Only disappointment were AC not working properly, unit needs replacing. Had same issue last time. Mgmt need to invest in new ACs. And there’s no fridge in room which is a pain.
