Hotel Terrazzo Sul Mare

The room was spacious, with 2 queen beds, two night stands, an armoire and a television. The view from the room terrace was breathtaking. The hotel also supplied a stand on the terrace to hang wet clothes and beach towels. The included breakfast had a great variety of foods to select from: pastries, lunch meat, eggs, breads/rolls, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, cereal, milk, coffee, tea, juices, and water. The dining terrace was abundantly large and provided a beach view while enjoying breakfast. The location relative to the beach was fantastic. The beach was within walking distance of the hotel, but be prepared to go down 180 stairs to reach street level from the hotel. The staff cleaned the rooms daily and were very flexible in working around our schedule. If we were still in the room when they came to clean, they just asked us when we would be leaving and came back at that time. When it was time to leave, our train departure was a few hours after the check out time, so we asked if we could check out a couple hours later and the staff was very accommodating to our request.

The air conditioning unit drain was on the room terrace and emptied into a little plastic bowl that very quickly filled with the discharged water from the unit and then overflowed onto the terrace floor. One evening the wind blew my beach towel onto the terrace floor and the overflowing water bowl drenched the towel during the night. Also, when the bowl became full the tube would sit in the water and cause an exhaust smell in the hotel room. Breakfast was from 7:30 until 10:30 am, and although the choices for breakfast were abundant, if you arrived at 9:00 am , the staff stopped restocking the things that had been totally consumed by previous guests. If you wanted something that had not been restocked you would have to find a staff member and request the item, and then wait for it to be brought out. If breakfast goes until 10:30, it should be fully stocked until at least 10:15 am. The bathroom was large in comparison to other hotels that I have stayed in Italy, however there was only a very flimsy towel stand that was not large enough for anything bigger than a couple of hand towels and tipped over when you placed your hand towel on it. There were three of us sharing the bathroom and there was nowhere to hang the bath towel while taking a shower and then there was no place to hang the wet towel after drying off. There was only one key to the room and the room door could not be locked from the inside without the key. One night I was not feeling well so I did not go out to town with my husband and son. In order to not wake me when they came back, they had to lock me in the room. If something had happened that required that I leave the room, I would not have been able to do so. There are reading lights right above each bed and right below the light is an outlet. The problem was that you had to keep the light on for the outlet to work. We ended up having to unscrew the bulb so we could sleep without a light while charging our phones overnight.

Breakfast every day was the same. Missing glass in the room.

Towels looked and felt old and scratchy. Breakfast served on buffet tables very dated. Selection ok but limited.

hotel has a really great location with amazing views of the sea and sunsents, everything is in walking distance - beach and city center, nice staff we were in this hotel for the third time and we will definitely come again
