The Residence Zanzibar

We spent our honeymoon at the residence and had the most amazing time! From the incredible views, nature surroundings around the grounds, nice buffet with themes, lovely villa with pool and the exceptional hospitality and warm welcomes provided by all the staff, this made our stay all the more memorable. Would recommend and we look forward to returning!

We had a wonderful time in the Residence. Everything was perfect. But if we need to point out one special thing: The staff. the staff is the heart of the Residence Zanzibar. Without the people there, the Residence would be a nice and comfy location. Not more. But the staff makes the stay an unforgettable experience. We never ever experienced such friendliness and happiness of staff. And not only in the service areas. The cooks, the security staff, the janitor, the electrician (our pool light had to be fixed)..... everyone was above and beyond nice, friendly and heartwarming welcoming.

This was my third stay at The Residence in 10 years and still very beautiful. The resort is absolutely beautiful, the gardens are incredible and the food has always been exceptional.

Drinks have become very expensive and full board does not include drinks. Dinner used to move to different locations- that has now changed with dinner in one place every night and an option to go to a second restaurant al la carte.

Lovely hotel, staff were amazing and the quality of food and drink was great. Sun loungers comfortable and hotel ground picturesque. Would stay again

Nice rooms but that’s about it as far as positives. Despite paying significant money for half board the hotel has the cheek to charge you $5 for a bottle of water at dinner. Beach is nice to look at (at high tide) but effectively unusable; it stinks due to seaweed. You are very far from everywhere else on the island and transport is expensive. Power cuts are frequent. Food is ok at best and the buffet tries to be too many things without being great at anything. Overall it was an ok experience but at this price it’s poor. I would not recommend.

Staff was amazing, amenities… top notch. Food was great, the villa was incredible. Each villa had its own pool and the resort supplies bicycles to get around the resort which is very convenient.

Our stay was absolutely perfect!!! The attention to details and the service was great. Special thanks to (Mercy) in front desk for arranging the birthday dinner and decor for my husband. Also a special thanks to the room service team (Sophia & Shakira) for going above and beyond with making sure we are looked after. The resort is stunning, pool area is beautiful and the service is outstanding. Another special thanks to the Chef (Satish) for the excellent food served in the resort.

All the staff are exceptionally friendly and always willing to help. The bicycles provided for exploring the property enhance the experience, making it a joy to travel around amidst the lush greenery and vibrant flowers. Each villa’s private pool makes the stay truly worthwhile, even with the impressive infinity pool overlooking the ocean.
