The Residence Zanzibar

One of the most incredible experiences of my life, highly recommended. We live a dream come true. The villas are spacious, incredibly comfortable, and incredibly quiet. The hotel organizes excursions throughout the island with complete assurance. The food is amazing, and they change it every day. A 10/10

We enjoyed a great vacation in a beautiful hotel. Villas are excellent. Staff was very committed and friendly. Food was excellent with different themes every evening. Overall we recommend the hotel.

The Residence Zanzibar truly was one of the most incredible, magical experiences; the location is exceptional, the rooms (villas! with your own pool) are just incredible, beautiful, luxurious, the bathrooms are enormous and spectacular! The food is delicious and the staff are truly exceptional, such friendly warm, kind and lovely people! everyone was fantastic, Charles was a wonderful person who helped with any way he could. Mary was so friendly and kind and Clement was amazing, so attentive and kind. And Edson was wonderful, we had a baby monkey who got trapped in our courtyard, he was incredible at helping us even with a language barrier, they worked so hard to free the monkey to return to the mother! It was a truly wonderful experience that I will never forget!

Absolutely stunning hotel. Right in the forest surrounded by troops of monkeys. The views the hotel ans the grounds are gorgeous. All the meals were lovely. Drinks were great, but top shelf were extra. The rooms were massive and staff kept them spotlessly clean.

Every person we met at The Residence treated us with such hospitality and it was hard to say goodbye. Not to mention, the incredible views, facilities, food and the monkeys who made our indoor rainy days entertaining. A massive thank you to the Residence team and a shout out to the lovely Johannes, Muharami, Helen, Josefine and Patrick who was an amazing trainee. We will be back - Hakuna Matata!

We were a party of 4 staying in 2 of the garden villas. It was a truly memorable and enjoyable stay and everything about The Residence was amazing, especially the staff. I’d especially like to mention Edson, Mary and Clement but there were many more who contributed to a wonderful stay. The villas were immaculate with private pools, the food was excellent and the location beside the sea was fabulous.

we were a aprty of four family members, sharing two villas. The lcation of this hotel is absolutely superb. Each Villa had a private pool as well as the beautiful main pool which was fabulous. The food was first rate and each night there was a different theme, i.e. Asian, Italian, street foold - one night all the tables were set up on the beach which was so beautiful. Entertainment in the form of dance and song was also a real treat most nights. However, the true charm and value inthis hotel has to be the staff - they are absolutely wonderful. They could not be more helpful or pleasant! a big shout to Edson who recued a baby monkey for us from our ouddoor showere - he couldn't get out and his mum couldn't get him out!, Clement for our cocktails and Mary each breakfast time. There are lots more wonderful staff but I don't have all the names. HOme again now and so longing to go back and do it all over - PS the bikes were a great touch!
