Lion Quays Hotel & Spa

I booked this for a friend suffering with cancer so he could have a chilled out day of enjoying the facilities,

I’d visited here a couple of times And thought this would be the perfect place for my friend as I wanted a chilled out break before his radiotherapy! Some parts were not a little tired But very tired (the seat in the bar area ) no hair dryer in my room!! There was a party on the night we stayed meaning we were listening to them all night !! But the 12.30am they were outside 2.15am I thought my door was coming in on me! 4am something else and then the fire alarm ! All outside no explanation,went for early breakfast and left ,I would have mentioned this to the receptionist but she was busy On the phone !

Location was good for visiting hospital

Attitude of the staff when booking in reception. Appeared not to be bothered and almost threw room key at us. Breakfast cold and greasy. Table sticky. Bathroom not clean. Would not stay here again!

Facilities were fab. Was such a lovely bonus to use the spa

Bed were a little soft for us

Staff were friendly Breakfast was lovely Nice to be able to use the spa facilities

Room was outdated with minor upkeep issues like scratches and material peeling on headboard, chipped bottom of bathroom door, general wear and tear that you wouldn't expect in a 'resort' Drinks were very expensive in the bar and lots of the food items were not available on the menu when we went for dinner leaving limited choice We also stayed when there was a wedding party and the noise was ridiculous banging, shouting, singing at gone 11pm however once we went to speak to reception they said they would sort it and they did quieten down after that.

The location and the restaurant food were good

Our initial room was dirty. The restaurant chairs were all broken and sunken the disabled toilet was dirty

It was clean and staff were friendly

We booked a double bed but we got two single beds
