The Cliffemount Hotel

Despite the weather the hotel was lovely and would stay again when in the area. Staff and food excellent. Room clean and compact. Would recommend the place if you want somewhere quiet to stay.

Great location with fantastic views. We stayed in a standard double which had great country views. Like others we found the shower a little challenging, having to get in the bath passed a fixed screen to turn it on! However, the rest of the room was nicely presented and comfortable. Outside seating has the most spectacular view and is very well kept, shame it is all bench seating which is not particularly comfortable for hotel guests to tarry. Food is excellent, served in a great place and very well presented, we found it very expensive and the portions very small so I would suggest a menu check before choosing to dine there. Overall a great place to stay for a little treat for the senses with very friendly staff always willing to make your stay special.

Although we enjoyed our stay to a degree we just felt that our experience was marred by being made to feel that we where almost in the way. Any requests where met with a negative as opposed to "yes no problem", for example when we informed the owner we would be outside whilst we waited for our table we were told that's fine but you will have to come back in 15 minutes as I am too busy to fetch you, I was stunned! Water and tea bags were not replaced the next day, never asked if we enjoyed our stay when we checked out just very cold atmosphere and at £195 per night very disappointing. Did I complain "no" as I don't think anybody was interested anyway so what a shame for a beautiful Hotel in a great location.

Fantastic location with stunning views. standard double room was quite small but fine for 2 night stay. Bathroom only had bath and old rubber hose attachment to use as shower which did not fit properly so washing hair was a real struggle as boiling water was escaping from the hot tap all the time.

Fantastic place to stay, food, staff and view wonderful. Ideal base for walking part of the Cleveland way, down to Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay and up to Staithes and Saltburn.

Went there to celebrate our anniversary. Just what we wanted. Good food, Views of the sea, Comfortable spacious room with balcony, Peaceful and quiet. Located in a village on the cliff top and on the path of the Cleveland Way,ideal for walkers. The only down side was that you could only get the internet in the lobby but that was not a problem for us. It was also reported the phone service was spotty but again it was refreshing not to have to listen to phones ringing

After staying at the hotel the room was very nice the bathroom was very clean and it had a nice power shower I think we will would like to go back again for 5 days
