Good base for exploring excellent walks close to Whitby , good local pub up the road

on business not suitable for my needs, though lovely for a shrt break stunning views

The restaurant was much improved since last visiting in October(both décor and food has improved). The staff were friendly and welcoming and despite the weather the hotel was warm with the exception of the bar which was a bit chilly. Overall a very good value and pleasing couple of days.

Wonderful view from premier room: best beach panorama I've seen. Excellent food; dinner is not cheap but worth it. Good use of local produce: free range eggs from next door farm. Welcoming, attentive staff. Ideal dog location since beach is enclosed and dog friendly all year. Quiet location suited us but busy Whitby is a short drive away.

Hotel very comfortable. Room excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. If you need to walk down to the beach, do it before breakfast as it is quite a steep walk. Views were interesting looking out to sea. Only had breakfast there which was good had a variety of choices. Enjoyable weekend.

A nicely positioned hotel, we had an upgraded room to executive which in our view was only a basic double... The room had room for a small sofa or comfy seating but there was none... The bathroom was disgusting and dirty you couldn't turn cold shower/ bath tap on properly.. If you wanted a bath you had to get in it to start running it as the shower door was un moveable.. The towels were very small... The heating was not adequate for the size of the room... Overall very disappointed..

enjoyed the overnight stay and the surroundings where fab. Little outdated in the bathroom with just a plastic shower head. And toilet struggled to flush. Other than that it was lovely

Picturess hotel with excellent rooms Very comfortable clean and attractive rooms Food was top class although pricey Beach was very beautiful and a pleasant walk although you will need to drive down and park as very very steep walk

The hotel was situated a 20 minute drive from a major town, but it was quiet, clean and the service was very good.
