Pathpoint Cologne Backpacker Hostel

Great location, helpful staff, decent facilities (shower excellent) and wifi was a bonus.

Literally just across the road from the Haubtbahnhoff. Excellent kitchen facilities to cook your own meals as eating out in Köln isn't cheap. Supermarkets and shops are only minutes walk away. Modern dorms with lockers. Crisp clean bedsheets. Well heated on cold nights. Extra charge by the city council just for visiting but probably the case in all of Köln. Free 10 hour Wi-fi voucher. Many guests are mostly on their mobile devices and laptops and don't want to seem to interact much with other individuals.

Very tidy hostel extremely close to the central station and in turn everything cologne has to offer. Staff are friendly and helpful and rooms are tidy. Definitely recommend.

We booked a double bed for ourselves. When we arrived, we were given a room with a bunk bed. When we told the receptionist, he informed us that they gave away the last room with the double bed, and he could not help us. We were very unhappy and will never stay in this hostel again. Nor would we recommend staying here to anyone else.

We booked online for 1 double bed. When we arrived, the reception guy said that there was no double bed but only double decker beds. Then why on their site are promoting rooms with double bed? They are very misleading. I have been booking hotel/hostel rooms frequently because I travel a lot and I know what a double bed is and it's not a double decker. I wouldn't trust booking online with them again because they misrepresent themselves as something they cannot offer.

Room was comfortable and clean. The only thing not easy was, there was no elevator. It may be common in European countries, but it is hard for aged Americans. I stayed on the first floor (American 2nd fl), so it was Ok. If I had to climb up higher with my luggage, I probably have been left for other place. Other than that, it was a good stay, worth for the money. As well, it was close to the train station what was my main purpose of staying there.

The hotel was opened in 2013, so everything was still quite new. We stayed in a double room, he beds were comfortable. It took about 15 minutes to walk from the Brussels-midi station. Staff was helpful.

Very close to train station. The room is very clean, but you need to make your bed. Additional fee is required for breakfast.
