"decent stay"

6.0

Nice decent hotel, with a swimming pool......which didnt use........the breakfast was nice, otherwise unhappy that they were charging me more for the taxi trip to dead sea than the usual taxi rate..

"great staff and nice rooms"

10.0

The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the immediate area. All of the information they shared was very reliable (they clearly stated when they were not personally familiar with a specific restaurant, service, etc.). The local area has a lot of traffic towards the end of the day which may make it a little frustrating when you are initially locating the hotel, but once you know your way around, it's pretty easy and convenient. Overall, I highly recommend it!

"Gem of a hotel"

10.0

We were delighted with our stay at the Amra Palace. It was more like a four star hotel and all the staff were fantastic. The hotel has a lot of character and the breakfast was excellent (sadly would not say the same for dinner). The sunset from our room was wonderful and they have a shuttle bus to Petra's visitor center. Loved the pool and turkish bath too.

"Friendly staff and great location"

8.0

Our stay at Amra Palace was great. It was close to the main downtown area and a short taxi ride from the Petra gate. The reception staff, especially Mahmoud and Ahmed, were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. One downside - the internet isn't free and is actually a bit pricey, though they sometimes offer package deals that include free wireless (ours was a turkish bath and internet - random). Also, you have to pay to use the jacuzzi unless it's in a package you buy. Weird.

"Great value and great service"

8.0

The location is a taxi drive from the entrance to Petra, but no problem. Hotel was comfortable and gardens beautiful. Had a fabulous view of the sun rising over the town from our room. Got a free dinner because we were staying three nights (it was February - not a busy time). Oodles of choice at breakfast. Staff made the place - doorman, desk staff, waiters - all helpful and friendly. Took the offer of free wifi with a haman; however, could only use wifi connection downstairs in the lobby, not in our room.

"Super hotel in a magical place"

10.0

One of the friendliest hotels I have ever found - personal service from staff who take time to know their guests. Excellent value for money and the hammam massage is a must! Marvellous place altogether .

"Wonderful Stay"

10.0

We were very pleased with Amra hotel. The staff was amazing, with sincere courtesy and genuine desire to help and accommodate their customers. In fact, I have stayed in many hotels in Jordan and the customer service at Amra is the best I've experienced, even in some of the 5 star hotels! The rooms were nice, the beds comfortable and the robes and slippers provided were a nice touch. In fact, we were very pleasantly surprised in light of some of the more pessimistic reviews for Amra hotel on here. While not a 5 star hotel, Amra definitely is worth consideration if you are looking for a nice, comfortable hotel near Petra that is not a hostel. As an added bonus, Amra offers a patron-specific Turkish bath rate and their buffet is actually one of the best dinner deals (including great quality!) you can find in Wadi Musa. I definitely suggest a reservation with them for those looking for a good quality stay near Petra.

"Very Pleasant"

8.0

Very nice, professional hotel staff. Couldn't figure out how to turn the flatscreen TV off in my room, (monitor stayed on). Buffet food was quite tasty. Jacuzzi wasn't working. Pool looked okay, but too cold outside to run back and forth to entrance. Room heated good. Shower water warm enough. Bathrobe and slippers very cozy.

"so wonderful!! Highly recommended"

10.0

My boyfriend and I stayed at Amra in early Dicember 2011. Upon arrival Mohamed at the reception desk gave us information on Jordan (Very useful since we'd taxied fron the Israel Border) and Petra. Extremely comefortable bed with super soft sheets, tv with many channels in various language (goodselection in english-not that you will be in the room much in petra!) comefortable 20 minute walk to the Petra site, easy 2 dinar taxi up hill to return. Resumen: great service, comefortable luxurious bed, great bathroom facilities.....this hotel beats the average us marriot! Plus, they know a tour guide who does a good tour and charges a fairly low price of 20 dinar. also, the breakfast is included and is SO DELICIOUS AND SO FRESH!!! wonderful wonderful wonderful.
