OYO 187 The Maxwell Hotel

Except for the wired internet connection which is free, everything is awesome at this bread and breakfast hotel. For the price we've paid, we have saved a lot of money. We have a relaxing stay. Hotel personnel are attentive.

We went there last january 6-7 2012, we were a lil bit early but they still gave us our room, so we can relax before we go to the tourist spots. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable and also they have a large bathroom, the only thing that i didn't like was the heater of the shower, because whenever u turn that on, it's very noisy, it's like it will explode, so i called the front desk and they checked the heater but the staff said that it is normal, so it's kinda weird because it is the first time that i heard a noise from the heater,, well overall, I'm satisfied to Maxwell hotel, the staffs are friendly and the breakfast is free.

Hotel is located in the middle of a very busy and dusty road. If u ask the stuff any question they wont know the answer, even if it's obvious. The food in hotel is really disgusting, tried ones and never again. Beds in the rooms r tiny, disignt for Asian ppl, so if u r a western couple u will struggle not to fall off. Eir conditioning and Tvs r like 20 years old...

We planned there to stay for only 1 night and we ended up staying for 5 nights. See, this chic property is close to everything. Across the street is a convenience store, 200 meters and you have McDonalds. If you get closer to the Capitol building more food choices and even spas areas that you can indulge while visiting cebu. I gave a 4 to the the cleanliness of the room since i noticed some dust when i checked in but it was cleaned the next day. I have a great view of the city and our bathroom is clean and the hot water is working. No buffet breakfast though even if our expedia itinerary said so. But plated breakfast of bacon,hotdog, rice and a glass of juice is sufficient. Internet connection was awesome but at the last 2 nights the connection was bad.

This is a very good hotel and is a sound alternative to Alpa or similar hotels if you are keeping a tight budget. Understandably Maxwell won't compete with some of the superior and higher priced resorts - but for its price range this is the very best. I'll be using it again when I visit Cebu in future.
