Excellent location right in the heart of the town. Everywhere is walkable from there. Evening menu was good, with enough to please most people, and the food was good. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Wonky floor but can’t be helped

My room was a small double, with a modern en suite bathroom. My bed was very comfortable. The staff were welcoming. The location is really convenient, right in the centre of Ludlow.

I arrived more than half an hour after check in and my room wasn’t ready. As I walked into the bathroom, there was a large step down and I almost fell. There needs to be a warning on the door and a strip to mark the edge of the step. I reported this to reception and was assured it would be dealt with. The room was very warm and the window had been left open. Unfortunately, this let in a lot of noise from the pub opposite (until around midnight on Friday and Saturday). A standing fan in the room would have been welcome (I didn’t ask whether one was available, to be fair). Although my room was clean, my bed wasn’t properly made up each day - although I do pull the duvet over, it’s nice to have it and the pillows smoothed down properly. There’s the option to “go green” and not have your room made up each day, but I hadn’t requested that. It demonstrated a lack of attention to detail, which I found disappointing. The hotel was ok, but not great. It would benefit from a bit more love and attention to score higher. As others have commented, it feels a little tired in places.

Location was great, short walk to Castle and main shopping area.

Car park was full when we arrived so we had to park elsewhere and walk. Person on phone wjen we were advised about full car park couldn't advise of alternative so we found ourselves.
