City Guest House

Lovely hosts and short walk in to the city

Stayed at the city guest for a city break. The location was great just a short walk from the Minster and the city centre. The room we stayed in was small but very homely. It was comfortable and clean. It was also the small touches that were nice, with chocolates and a bottle of water supplied every day. The couple who run the guest house were very friendly and breakfast was cooked to order. They also gave us a city guide map and offered advice about places to visit. Overall it was a very good experience and we would stay there again if we were to return to York.

Friendly staff and very helpful

From the moment we walked into City guest house we felt welcomed and at home with Julie and Allan. Julie introduced us to the layout of the town with a map and gave us some suggestions on where to start. Allan took our bags and brought them up to our room for us so we didn't have to. Everything about this property was immaculately clean and tidy and well put together. We were provided with everything we needed without having to ask. Every morning our breakfast was ready for us and the hospitality was amazing. We enjoyed the little chats we had with our hosts and they always made us feel more like friends than guests.

We're so pleased to have stumbled across this wonderful B&B. The rooms were comfortable and clean with nice touches such as decent towels, good bedding, and a few bathroom products. Nicely freshened up daily. The daily cooked breakfast/continental was delicious and plentiful. Allan and Julie are excellent friendly hosts, and we'll be recommending City Guest House to family and friends. Thank you for looking after us.

Excellent place to stay, welcoming and friendly, very clean and a few minutes' walk to all the sights. I heartily recommend it.

Julie and Allan were the best of the stay!! Always giving tips and asking if we needed anything. The breakfast was incredible and we got a room upgrade for free. They paid attention to every single detail of our stay, including preparing a binder with recommendations, useful numbers and fan facts about the city! Everything was wonderful, specially the handmade breakfast they served everyday with a smile

Fantastic place 5/10 mins to the town Breakfast was lovely Owners are warm and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Rooms cosy and comfortable Bed was very comfortable I Had a really restful night I was a lone traveller and I felt safe and secure Close to shops, restaurants and amenities Excellent information folder in the rooms with lots of information on the history of the building and area and shops, pharmacy etc I would highly recommend this place, not highly modern but traditional but lovely none the less.
