The Barrington Guest House Hotel

On arrival we met Steve our host ,very friendly and everything explained regarding our stay ,lovely guest house clean and nothing too much trouble,full English breakfast was delicious,near all the shops and sea front Both hosts friendly and other guests too Will definitely be back

No sea view as stated.cleanliness not up to scratch dust under bed and sideboard. Towels not changed daily. And bottled water is from the tap. Food rating is from 2018 and kitchen where food cooked is not the best. Friendly hosts .

What a beautiful guest house , ideal location ! Walk up the hill to the high street , walk down the alleyways opposite & your on the seafront. Steve & Claire are great hosts, also very welcoming & knowledgeable of the local area . You are given a parking permit to park in zone A2, on the backstreets, plenty of parking, which is free ! I’d recommend visiting the castle £11 each , stunning views with a free guided tour , also the pirate ship £6 each , maybe see the dolphins like we did . To top it all off a great breakfast with a cup of Yorkshire Tea ! Will definitely return.

Lovely decor, delicious breakfast but mattress was past its sell by date and had no support. Had practically no sleep. Made a discreet complaint the following morning and the response from the host was ridiculous. We were aggressively shouted at and threatened with the police to evict us if we didn't leave immediately. Fearing for our safety we left. We were not offered another room and also charged for the second night that we didn't stay. We were both shaken up and my wife was in tears. Totally ruined our short stay to my home town of Scarborough. Do not stay here if you are likely to complain about anything.

This is a listed Georgian town house in spitting distance from the sea. It is a boutique style with high quality fixtures and fittings. I recommend this Guest house without reservation unless steep narrow stairs may cause you problems. The bed and shower were excellent as was the full English. Steve the proprietor was friendly and up for a chat. Overall 5*.

Nice clean, well looked after guest house with good sized bedroom & shower with decent storage. Hearty breakfast with friendly owners. Conveniently located for Scarborough sea front & town centre. The immediate area around the premises was beginning to look a bit run down (did not apply to the premises), and limited parking, but overall good value for the money.

The room was modern, comfortable and clean - Attention to detail was apparent. Friendly hosts and a hearty breakfast included in my price. Would certainly stay again when visiting Scarborough. The Guest house is situated on a pathway above a row of shops so don’t rely on Satnav for the last part of the journey. Parking requires a permit issued by proprietor on arrival.

Disappointed Room was on the very top floor up a very narrow potentially dangerous flight of stairs

The hosts are very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The rooms appear to have been recently renovated and are very clean and modern. The B&B is only a couple of minutes walk from the beach and harbour and a few minutes more to the shopping centre. Breakfast was very tasty. We will return in the future.
