The Farmhouse at Redcoats

Went for Sunday lunch with my son for his birthday, we were sitting in the bar as we had a dog with us, the food turned up and although it was very tasty, the beef was lovely, it was luke warm. we then waited 30-40 minutes for our table to be cleared, we asked for the bill and waited so long to pay, I asked if i could pay at the bar but barman said he couldn't take payment and someone would come over, we waited again for an age. It is a shame because when hot the food is usually very good and the service has always been good, but this time I was very disappointed.

Everything about our wedding at Redcoats was wonderful, the staff (special shoutout to Megan!) were kind, helpful and nothing was too hard an ask. We had a few quirks at our wedding and they were brilliant at helping us work through them. The food was amazing, and it really just gave us the best, stress-free day we could have asked for!

Quiet location, tastefully decorated, comfortable accommodation

We stayed in asignature farmhouse room which was beautifully decorated and full of architectural history. It was extremely comfortable and well equipped. The staff were without exception, delightful. We ate in the restaurant on two nights and the food was very good.

The tap on the bath was not working properly which meant the flow was so slow I could not fill the bath. This was the only downside to our trip.

Double bed too small for 2 adults and one dog!! Their stable rooms need king beds even though room small.

We visited on the weekend for our anniversary. Stayed in a signature room on a foodie staycation package. I literally have nothing bad to say about any of it. The hotel, grounds, room and restaurant/bar area were beautiful. My only criticism (and it is a small one) was that I found it a little uncomfortable sitting in the bar area as the seats were a bit uncomfortable. The most important thing for me was that the staff were amazing. From reception to bar and dinner everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable and made every effort to make our stay, dinner and breakfast perfect. We had a great chat with Tony who was so passionate about his team and the service they deliver. The food was stunning. Drinks were good quality and reasonable value. All in all we had a perfect anniversary celebration and will definitely be visiting again. Thank you so much to Tony and his fabulous team for making our anniversary so special!
