"Would recommend the Farmhouse ."

9.0

Staff very friendly and attentive. Location and property very nice. Lots of parking places. Bed very comfortable.

Breakfast on first morning, black pudding thin and overcooked, hash brown overcooked. On second morning black pudding again thin and crispy. No waste bin in room only in bathroom. Not enough milk for two days, or not replenished for second day, similarly water bottles not given for second day.

"Unnesserary attitude by staff member"

6.0

This is a bit of a weird one. But I booked a table for 6 at this restaurant. On arrival they didn’t have my booking. I couldn’t find the confirmation on my phone so I assumed I had made a mistake when booking. The lady who ushered people to the table made a laboured point of telling me that I was mistaken and I didn’t have a booking and that they were very busy. Obviously I felt awful as it was a special occasion for our friends 40th wedding anniversary. Another young lad came over and said it’s ok we happen to have a free table for 6 so come through. I do realise it was my mistake but why when there was a table was I made to feel awful by this member of staff. She had a can’t do attitude which is not helpful in this setting. We sat down and after a few minutes she came back to tell me I had booked a table at their pub setting just down the road and that she had cancelled it. Tbh I feel she didn’t really need to do that in front of everyone at the table. Rubbing salt in the wound doesn’t really help. Other than this incident all the waiting staff were utterly charming and attentive. The food was good but the scallop starter priced at £18 were tiny and definitely not worth the amount they were priced at. And two of us who had the lamb da k were slightly disappointed that there were only 2 cutlets and it was all a bit Luke warm. But overall the food was very good. Moral of the story. When issues like this occur just solve the problem, don’t make customers feel embarrassed that they have made a mistake especially when there is a table sitting there free.

"Good hotel with a few issues"

6.0

We stayed at the hotel for three nights. We had booked for two but had a change of circumstances & added an additional night whilst there. The first room we had was lovely, very big & nicely decorated etc, the only down side was a strange smell. The second room was in the Barn & again was lovely, beautiful appointed however it turned out the central air con unit grate was located inside the room ! It was unbearably noisy, there was also a bright green light beside it both were on all night & it wasn’t able for them to be turned off. These two things made it impossible to sleep. It’s a great shame because overall the hotel is great & we had two excellent meals, one in the restaurant the other in the bar area. I would recommend the hotel to other though would advise to avoid room 36 if you want to sleep.

"A very good, quirky, hotel with helpful, friendly staff."

10.0

I grew up in St Ippolyts and remember Redcoats as a working farm. It has been sympathetically turned into a comfortable, quirky, hotel. Our bedroom was comfortable, and although the bathroom ladder radiator didn't work, the shower was excellent, with fluffy towels. The bed was comfortable and the only 'disturbance' was an occasional owl hooting - wonderful! The breakfast was excellent, using quality ingredients and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The cocktails also deserve a mention too - delicious! Unfortunately we didn't eat at the hotel in the evening as we were with friends, however I most certainly will do so on our next visit as the evening menu looked temptingly intriguing.

"The staff were so amazing especially accommodating and understanding our situation and our do"

10.0

The property is beautiful and so nice to have a gorgeous room that your dog can stay in with you! Most hotels if dog friendly you get the worst room of the hotel, so this was an amazing discovery.

What’s not to like!
