Hotel Schöne Aussicht Garni

Hotellet ligger högt med fantastisk utsikt över byn och alperna. Det tog ca 15 minuter att promenera ner till centrum. Tyvärr fungerade inte wifi på hotellet som det stod att det skulle göra.

We booked an "Appartement" purportedly with living room, kitchen and complimentary breakfast. The lodging was really a studio. The "kitchen" consisted of a two-burner stove, a small refrigerator minus freezer, and a sparse assortment of utensils. It was located in a windowless dark hole without ventilation. Likewise, the bathroom, although new, lacked any ventilation. As a result, after we had showered, the "living room" was muggy throughout the night, making sound sleep difficult. The reception was only open from 4 until 6 pm! (What happens to people who get stuck in traffic on the Autobahn?) The receptionist asserted that the room did not include the advertised complimentary breakfast. After all, she said, the room had a "kitchen," and Expedia was solely responsible for any misinformation. That the customer's expectations were disappointed was of no importance to her. In fact, she said, we should be content that the room was so "inexpensive." When she brought us there, she warned us not to rotate the key twice when locking the door. If we did, we could neither enter nor leave owing to a faulty lock. When we went to check out the next day, no one occupied either the reception or the breakfast room. After a five minute wait the owner finally showed up. He said that many Expedia customers had come with the same misunderstandings. Expedia, he repeated, was to blame. In any case, what did we expect from an "apartment" offered at such a "good price"?

Had booked for 2 nights and left after one. Room had lovely view over the valley towards the mountains but the furniture, bed, bedding and shower were very basic; there were piles of dirty plates on a table in the corridor which remained there untouched; there was no sort of sitting room other than an attractive corner of the breakfast room which was inaccessible and locked up the minute breakfast was over; the hotel was a long walk from any restaurants in the central part of town; the lady who ran the place seemed distracted and uneasy. Not a jolly time at all.

Worst experience ever. We called and emailed them before booking because we intended to have 4 people. They said it was no problem. The day before our check in they sent us an email in German although all of our communications had been in English. This was an important email because we found out that it meant that the road to the hotel was closed. We had an "apartment" which is listed as sleeping 3. We were 4 so we requested a rollaway bed when booking. However, when we arrived, there was only a bed and a sofa and bedding for the bed only. There was no-one to talk to. No reception area. No phone in the room. We had to go back to the main door and call the owner via the intercom (we called him four times because we arrived at 5 pm and they did not bring the bed and bedding until around 10:30 pm). After that, when we tried to take a shower, the showerhead was falling apart (they had tried to fix it with tape). We ended up soaking up the entire bathroom every time we attempted to take a shower. When we checked out, we had to hunt a hotel assistant down. After we found someone who could help us with the check out, they charged us the advertised rate plus $40E. We knew we had to pay an additional $20E for the rollaway bed, but the room was listed as sleeping 3 people so we did not expect to be charged the additional $20E. We tried to explain that to the person helping us to no avail. Be aware. Enjoy the area. It is very pretty.

Very big and comfortable apartment

Husband and I couldn't share a bed because the beds were two twins pushed together. If you want internet, this would not be the place to stay. Internet worked for one log in and the rest of the time we couldn't log onto the internet. Breakfast was good but we could only get it for one morning because it was served too late. 8-10am. It was a nice stay but I need internet. Bring toiletries because they only give you bar soap.

Gutes Preis Leistungs Verhältnis. Super Frühstücksbüffet. Netter Service. Der Name ist Programm: "zur schönen Aussicht" ist eigtl untertrieben, es müsste heißen: "zum Weltklasse Panorama"

I loved this hotel! The views are breathtaking and the rooms are quaint. We got a room with a balcony and we enjoyed watching the run rise and set over Garmisch. The hotel is a bit of a hike to get to so I suggest parking your car towards the bottom of the hill when you want to go into the city center. Your feet will thank you later on your way back to the hotel. The morning breakfast spread was delicious and had something for every palate. I plan on returning to Garmisch and will certainly stay here again.

Great location for getting out and seeing the sites. Relatively nearby to Neuschwanstein, Munich, Zugspitze. Our room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the Olympian Stadium and ski jump. The breakfast was nothing shirt of wonderful. Probably the best bread we had on this trip...rolls crispy on the outside, soft and airy inside. Jutta, who ran the gasthaus, seems to be everywhere all the time! Pleasant and always with a quick smile, she worked tirelessly to ensure our stay was great. Her restaurant recommend for dinner was spot on. Would highly recommend!
