Hotel Schöne Aussicht Garni

We really enjoyed our stay here and we highly recommend it. We had a beautiful view of the ski jump and mountains from our room. There is ample free parking. The internet had some problems, but after our hostess rebooted the router, we had good signal. The breakfast was very good and our hostess made eggs special for us. We suggest guests arrive early to enjoy the location and to get your key and internet password. If you arrive late, there is a key box that the hostess will provide your key, but also ask about the password paper you will need to get online. There are some rooms with shared bathrooms, so be sure to look at the listing as you book your room.

Loved the view from dining room, but what was really special was the breakfast. We've never gotten such a huge and varied breakfast at any of our other B and B's on our entire trip. Everything had the owner's artistic touch.

The property was a good hotel for the price. Wonderful view and great breakfast service. Our room was not the most comfortable or laid out, but very clean. The location was very quiet and away from the hussle and bustle of downtown, but a very short drive uphill. I would stay there again, but would request a balcony room.

Lisa in the breakfast room was fantastic. Unfortunately, the other employee acted like she was much too busy to help or didn't know how: internet and TV wasn't working during the German v Argentina world cup game. Also, no one told us about the 7 Euro per day charge to the Garmisch tourist office either, which was disconcerting to find out about right at check out. On the good side, the trails up Wank Mountain are right near the hotel, and the German style breakfast was very well done and Lisa was very accomadating during the breakfast time. Would probably stay there again especially now that we know what to expect.

We were staying one night in Garmisch and purposely picked this hotel because of the advertized wonderful mountain view. We booked on hotels.com a mountain view room with a balcony. Evidently there is no one on staff after 6pm, and we could not call ahead because by the time we realized we would be late due to travel delays, we had no phone or internet. Since we arrived at 8pm we had to ring a buzzer to speak to someone off-site, the man seemed very confused about our arrival and could not figure out who we were. Finally he told us a code to press for a room and a key was released. It was a tiny room with no windows and no view. We went back to the buzzer to complain and he said there was a mistake and they accidentally gave away our room. We walked by a couple opening the door to their room and saw that the type of room facing the mountain was large and beautiful with a balcony. But at that point the man said there was nothing to do, so we went to bed grumpy. In the morning when we went to check out and pay, the woman said the price for the small room was the same as for the mountain room with balcony and that it was our fault for pressing the wrong button to release the wrong key. No apologies and no sympathy on their part. I assume others stay with a lovely experience if there are no hickups and you arrive by 6pm, but it was very unfortunate that we had such a bad experience here.

We loved the mountain views from our balcony. Very clean and neat. Though bathroom was shared for bathing, it was not a problem since there seemed to be no one else on that floor and there was a sink in the room...Breakfast in the morning was included and very nice. It was a ways from town, requiring a taxi, and we had some trouble getting in since it was after six (call ahead if you are late), but all in all a nice place to stay...

As a couple we stayed in one of the apartment rooms, which was large and comfortable with a small kitchen (no oven, but it had a hob). The view was brilliant over the Wettersteingebirge (when it wasn't cloudy). The one thing that might be of issue is that you probably need a car to travel to/from the hotel - otherwise it would be about a 20 minute walk to the first bit of town (even though it is close as the crow flies to the main streets, the topography means you have to travel along a long road). At the end of this long road though is a direct connection to Garmisch's main street, and a supermarket/petrol station with good opening times. We would definitely book this apartment/hotel again.

Our stay at Hotel Schone Aussicht Garni was very enjoyable. Room was very comfortable with lots of room. We had our private patio and yard area. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and breakfast setting had a lovely view of the mountains. Beautiful scenery. Would love to stay here again and would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

If you are traveling in this part of the country, you must stay at this hotel. It is such a beautiful hotel and the views are just breathtaking. The hotel is very clean and the hostess is very hospitable and informative. The stay includes a traditional German breakfast, which was just wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel.
