Hamilton House

Owners were very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were excellent, and we really appreciated the use of the guest lounge.

Shower room was rather small for a twin room. I felt the mattress was a little too soft/springy.

A turbulent night due to someone in the room above pacing up and down (with creaking floorboards) and dropping/knocking things for most of the night until 6:30am - which was when we gave up trying to sleep. Not so much a reflection on the hosts/property, but in honesty our experience wasn’t great.

Lovely family run little guest house Easy to locate, with a great location within walking distance of the town center. Met on arrival and shown to room so great service Felt safe as door was locked and needed a key to get into house Parking was a bonus and was plenty of it Breakfast was amazing the scrambled eggs were divine Windows in the room opened and that was great as i love fresh air

Nothing could have been improved on

The rooms are very spacious and clean. The breakfast provided was incredible. The hosts were super friendly. We'd definitely stay again if visiting Dumfries.

Not the hosts' fault at all, but Dumfries is very quiet, especially on a Friday night when you'd expect it to be lively. The town is great as a stopover, or if you have an event nearby, but to visit, there's not an awful lot here.
