Harper's Steakhouse with Rooms, Haslemere

The property was clean and reasonably well maintained in the public areas, though they were having issues with some water leaks. We had dinner and breakfast at the property and on both occasions the food was very good. There were some nice touches in the room; for example fresh milk for tea and coffee (of which there was plenty) in a fridge.

The room had some faults, with the en-suite door handle insecure and one bedside lamp unable to be used as the lamp flickered if turned on. The person who checked us in was very good, showing us to our room and explaining how everything worked and where things were, but from there the staff went downhill. Waiting and cleaning staff not knowing their jobs, not helpful, more interested in talking among themselves than serving. Incredibly poor service from the majority of the staff.
