Waiorau Homestead

What a great experience! We were here just for a night - as it was on the way from Lake Tekapo to Te Anau. But this is the kind of place where you could easily stay longer and make it your base to explore a wide area. Mainly because of staying at hotels, it is always fun to be at "home"! Blyth was an amazing host for us. From the moment we walked in, when he offered to make us tea, to the time we checked out the next morning, we just felt taken care of. We had booked dinner ahead of time - which turned out to be a great thing as Blyth is a great cook! it was just the two of us for dinner, and we have a lot of allergens - but no problem, he made sure we had a great meal. The soup was to die for (more than a month later, we still talk about it!). The poached egg from breakfast was great too. Like any B&B, part of the fun is to run into other people staying at the property. We were fortunate enough to have breakfast with a couple from Netherlands - we talked for over an hour - and truly enjoyed their company!

Very happy! The house is run by a couple, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, enjoying a retirement-like life in a warm home. At night, you can see the starry sky and the Milky Way very clearly! In the morning during breakfast, everyone sits together sharing interesting stories from New Zealand, like a harmonious family! Everything is perfect! Thank you!

Was beautiful property and so quiet . Owners were lovely , everything was just well done , and very comfortable

Everything!!!!!! The Chef Blyth was a FANTASTIC cook and Ann was adorable .Could had stayed longer , just to have more meals. INCREDIBLE experience and the grounds beautiful.
