Hotel Wassenaar

No where comfortable to sit and relax...either your room or dining table and chair.lacking charm generally...very masculine,practical stop over place

Zimmer zu Strassenseite eher zu laut, im seitlichen Trakt deutlich besser. Alles funktionell und OK. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis auch OK.

Pro: Location. And being the only hotel in this area/Wassenaar that we could find. Con: Breakfast is not included. Nothing warm apart from boiled eggs. One type of cheese and a few other options is not good enough. Not worth the 9 euros. Breakfast is half price for children, but only if you ask for it. Not enough personell to attend both breakfast buffet and reception. In afternoon / evenings we had to find receptionist in bar or restaurant. Worst of all: Rooms are very warm. It is not possible to open window in room. No air conditioning. Common balcony means not possible to let door open when not in room. In addition, the rooms that face the road are subject to a lot of noise from the traffic. I mean A LOT. Do state that you want a room on the side that faces the fields. If you do not have to stay at this hotel, chose one in Leiden instead. It is not far, not even by bike (we were biking, and sadly discovered this after we payed for our rooms).

Stayed with a group of friends for football tournament. Very basic hotel but room is of a good quality; beds and mattresses are good; all is clean and bathroom shower is of good quality. For €60 per night, what else do you want? Breakfast basic but good quality. You can hire bikes at a cheap rate too. Check in and out was very easy too. Overall, budget hotel but with a good quality. Would definitely recommend

This was a last minute booking after we were unhappy with our original hotel in The Hague and it's hard to fault the hotel. The location is outside the town but that suits us fine. There is some noise from traffic but certainly not enough to be annoying. The rooms were large, spacious and clean. There wasn't a kettle in the room when we arrived but they were more than happy to provide one. There is a restaurant at the hotel which is a little bit on the pricey side but the food is of good quality and worth the money. Breakfast is a traditional buffet continental type and enough to set you up for the day. However the hotel came into their own on the final morning when our car broke down - although we had breakdown cover we had to wait for a recovery vehicle and they were happy to supply us with hot drinks whilst we waited and also hold the room if we needed it any longer. They were also willing to find us a local garage - indeed they could not have been more helpful. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Despite bad comments we do recommend this hotel. Its location is ideal if you want to reach Keukenhof quickly (20 min by motorway). - The room in which we spent the night was really quiet with a balcony and view over the countryside, modern, beautiful and large. The bed was extremely comfortable. - The breakfast was excellent with plenty of food, - The welcome in this hotel was excellent. (evening and morning). There is only one drawback : you must take the car to reach Wassenar's downtown to find a restaurant because the hotel's restaurant is very pricy. ( 8 minutes drive)

Fine for the price. Only complaint is wifi not available in room and very weak in lobby/restaurant.

Over the last few months I and other relatives have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions whilst visiting a sick relative in Wassenaar. We have found the hotel to be excellent value for money and the staff extremely friendly and supportive. Thanks to all of them

the hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of the city. everyone at the hotel, no matter what there function was, were all very professional, courteous, and nice. we had a wonderful weinersnitzel covered with a fried egg and bacon underneath. it was delicious. we opted for the breakfast buffet which was also very well presented. free parking was a plus as well.

Hotel staff were excellent,however the condition of the hotel,cost of food and other items were expensive,management could have a great business if more quality time were spent on looking after customers,being more friendly and re-furbishing the premises.
