Kalimna Woods Cottages

The location was convenient and close to town. Nice farm/woodland setting.

The cottage was probably a bit small for 4ppl but sufficient for a 2 night stay.

Location. Very close to Lakes Entrance attractions

Although I paid top dollar for the property despite booking it months ago. The property lacks lots of basic stuff that even basic motel room should have. Just because it’s peak holiday season, you can’t justify charging the same as what others are charging but the property lacks lots of stuff which is required in the current day and age. Examples: The TV in the room is very old. A DVD player is provided which does not work because it is so old. Individual bedrooms rooms do not have heating or cooling. Just an electric blanket. Living room had a small reverse cycle aircon but that can’t heat or cool the entire cottage. Cost cutting by management is clearly evident. Induction top has been added but there is no chimney or exhaust fan. How do you think, that is acceptable. When you travel with kids and family you need these basic amenities. Suitable for a Solo traveler only

The location was brilliant!

They cleaned as if a child did the cleaning. Wet cloth on mirror leaving marks on it, they didn't clean the floor corners, I found hair in the shower. The windows were dirty with lots of dead and alive insects on it (I know it is a cottage, but you still need to clean around every niw and then). The curtains turned from white into different shades of grey from top to bottom. Fireplace didn't work. BBQ didn't work, but we used another far from our cottage. Kitchen facilities were minimum, less than camping. We had one fork, one knife and one spoon each. Same for glasses and plates. Mugs were not an option. They provided the cinese stile tea cups (the small one without the handle) and that's it. The fry pan had loose handle and it's lid literally fall off my hand leaving the middle of it on my hands. Being a cottage it was dark inside, but the bulbs were not strong enough to illuminate the space. I believe the electricity system wasn't by rules. The owner was nice, but left the reception almost always unattended (he replied when I contacted him on the phone). I believe was is the only person looking after the 10 cottages during Xmas time. This might explain why the place and service was so neglected. FYI, this is the firts time I leave a negative feedback and I am sorry to do that. But it is not fair to pay so much for something that doesn't deserve it. I would have changed accommodation if I could find an alternative between Xmas and NY. In conclusion, I would describe Kalimna Wood Cottage as a cute 2 stars cottage with potentials, if money and personnel would be invested. This is not a 4 stars cottage. Not at all.

Lovely quiet little cottage, very simple and right next to the jetty which has an awesome sunset!

Not quite how the pictures and description make it seem - it is essentially a wooden cabin in the woods among a few other wooden cabins, and facilities are pretty bare with slightly uncomfortable beds.
