Muthu Lake Naivasha Country Club, Naivasha

Almost didn't go there, but decided to include it, and are we glad we did!!! Don't miss this place, if you have an opportunity to go there. Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake that is home to abundant birdlife and hippos. They advertise a "boat cruise," which was actually a 6 person skiff with an outboard motor. We were surprised by this, but it turned out to be perfect for cruising the 150 acre, privately owned island. There were just 3 of us in the little skiff, which was perfect. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the place, and the vast variety of birdlife there. Many hippos basking in the cool water. Saw the largest pelicans I have ever seen! The property is not fenced, so in the late afternoon/evening, the property is visited by zebras, monkeys, gazelles, and later, after dark, hippos. You can sit on your porch and watch them graze, just feet from you. The hippos, because of their unpredictable aggressive nature, were kept further from the rooms, and guides would escort you to their grazing area, for your safety. The whole nature experience at this lodge was amazing, and really, not to be missed. Now to the rooms. This is an old lodge, and it feels such. The view of the lake, and animals RIGHT THERE, don't expect the room to be extravagant. Bed was comfortable, room was clean. But the shower didn't really work... like no hot/warm water, and only a trickle. Only two towels, no hand towel, no washcloth. But I forgave the inconvenience for the property itself. Nowhere else will you get what they offer. Food: average.

The location was excellent , we enjoyed viewing up close the hippos, zebras and waterbucks which were moving freely throughout the grounds. View of the lake was excellent. Customer service and checking and checking out process was great. Food buffet especially dinner was great, should increase the variety options for breakfast and consider including atleast one soft drink in the dinner/lunch buffet.

Rooms were abit dated, could use some renovations.Spotty internet especially in the rooms.

Super Lage am See mit Hippos und Zebras im Garten. Personal war sehr freundlich. Wir hatten probleme mit unserem Raum... dann gabs am 2Tag ein upgrate

A bit pricey for what you get, rooms were a bit tired decor wise
