The staff need training in how to serve tables. Ordered a drink, and then the meal, meal was cooked and had arrived before my water! Ordered a pudding, table was not relaid. Pudding arrived. Nothing to eat with. Disappointing. Took more time making the empty tables look nice than actually dealing with visitors. Also no biscuits in the room, nothing. Not even when asked at reception!

GBIt is a fabulous hotel and gardens in a great location. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the facilities perfect, and all the little extras were a very nice surprise. We had lunch and breakfast during our stay, and we were very impressed with the quality of food. The room and bed were very comfortable and clean. Overall, The Barnsdale exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to returning.

Service rather slow as staff struggled on very busy Saturday eve but they remained helpful and did their best. Stairs to bedrooms would not suit folk with mobility issues.

GBVery picturesque hotel in a lovely location. Tasty food and friendly staff. Very comfy bed. Super party venue in the barn.
Unfortunately the room felt overpriced. The downstairs access door was very stiff, so whenever it was opened the bedroom door rattled very loudly which was a shame. The conditioner was so watered down it was hard to use! Not what I expected for £260 a night but we still had a lovely time.
