Pretty good hotel

The hotel was nice; clean and comfortable. We had issues with the card reader on our door. Our key would never work. We asked for new keys three times and that didn’t help. We were there for a basketball tournament and typically eat as a team on Saturdays. Apparently it was an issue for us to eat in the breakfast area or make any noise while doing so.

No soap in the room

We checked in later in the evening due to traveling from far away, and that process was easy. No thrills, but easy enough. Our AC did not seem to be working in the room and the same guy who checked us in explained Maintenance is "on call" but was unavailable, so he came to try and help us out, which was great, but unfortunately, the AC never ended up working and we had to switch rooms the next morning. The ladies at the front desk and housekeeping helped make that a pretty seamless process, but just a bit of a hassle with packing up our stuff to move a few doors down. It was great they accommodated us though. Price was decent and location was good for what we needed it for.

A room with no towels!! So I get ready to shower and there were no towels call down to front desk and she says if you can you wait 15 minutes or come down for some.

My family and I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites York and wanted to share my experience. First off, the bed was incredibly comfy, which made for a restful night's sleep. After long days with family in the area, it's always nice to return to a cozy bed. The staff at the hotel were mostly friendly, greeting us with warm smiles during check-out. However, I encountered a few employees who seemed less enthusiastic about their roles, which slightly detracted from the overall experience. Now, on to the room. While it was somewhat clean, I did notice that it could use some deeper attention in certain areas. The design and furnishings felt a bit dated, and the overall ambiance of both the lobby and the rooms could benefit from a refresh. One area that truly disappointed me was the breakfast. The options were mediocre at best, falling short of the expectations I usually have for a hotel in this category. I was hoping for better quality. Lastly, the pool area left a lot to be desired. It appeared poorly maintained, which was surprising for a property of this reputation. It was a bit disappointing, as we had hoped to enjoy some relaxation time by the water. My kids love pool time when we go away. In conclusion, while the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites York offers a comfy bed and some friendly service, it has notable areas for improvement. A more thorough cleaning regimen, updated decor, a better breakfast selection, and enhanced maintenance of the pool area

Upon arrival the front desk girl tried to have us pay a second time, although we already paid through Hotels.com. I refused and showed her my bank account and receipt, so she had to call her manager. They put us through as having paid with cash just to get us our room and we had to deal with another receptionist the next morning. Our room had no toilet paper on the roll, had only two towels to use, the refrigerator did not work, and there was no hot water. When we went to the pool area, there were no towels available. The buffet breakfast had minimal to offer, as the guy in charge of the food was more busy outside smoking dope than keeping the food stocked. There was no coffee at all available and the pancake machine was out of service.

Overcharged by $168.17 and was told there wasn’t anything that could be done until a manager arrived in the morning. When I asked for a receipt for the overcharge I was told I couldn’t be given one.
