Suites & Hotel Punta Esmeralda

The suite was so nice that I extended my stay twice. There are so many pleasant features to the place. A friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful, well-kept grounds. A clean, refreshing pool for cooling off in the afternoon heat. A delightful patio for lounging outdoors and soaking up the coastal climate. Location close to the long, beautiful beach. Very reasonable price for the suite, and excellent made-to-order breakfasts for under five dollars US. This place was a gem that I might not have found without Expedia's great service.

Punta Esmeralda is in a good location, 5 minutes walk to La Punta restaurants and beaches, 30-35 pesos for taxi to Zicatela. The rooms were clean and the hotel quiet. Salt water swimming pool was beautiful and very refreshing after a long day at the beach. Very friendly and hard working staff, and always available to help. The breakfast was very good and reasonably priced if the continental breakfast isn’t enough. We didn’t have a chance to go on an excursion, but you can book them directly at the front desk with Jose.

My only stay was for a 7 hour night, but the hotel let me down as it is not as shown in the photos, the location does not help, lacking cleanliness in the bathrooms and towels, they smell musty. There is no connection between parking and reception, you have to walk down the street to leave or remove your car

Las instalaciones son muy cómodas, muy limpias y grandes. Agradable la estancia, el personal muy atento y el desayuno sencillo pero hay más opciones. Lo único "malo" es que la playa (que sí está a dos minutos caminando), no es muy bonita. Excelente atención, volveríamos sin duda!

This place is basically the same price as local hostels near La Punta, but unlike 90% of those, there's air conditioning and a pool. It's a solid 10-minute walk to the few bars & restaurants/other hostels near La Punta's surf break, but honestly, the air conditioning might be worth it. Cool balconies. Wifi is pretty suspect, the 'breakfast' is just toast with jams, the 'gym' is a 10-minute drive into Zicatela, and for a hotel this is pretty no-frills. But for the price, it's a steal.

It was a lovely stay! The hotel staff is very nice and helpful. There are a few great spots for food, coffee, freshly made juices just steps away. The pool is wonderful, well maintained, clean, beautiful. I would definitely stay there again.

Had a great time relaxing at Punta Esmeralda! Nice pool, nice spacious rooms and staff was very friendly. Hotel is close to beach. Short taxi ride to tourist area. Highly recommend.

A really nice place to relax and enjoy the rest of the beauty of Puerto Escondido, the staff is very helpful and friendly... The hotel offers kitchenette, you just have to ask for the silverware and pots to cook, they bring it to you without extra cost even a coffee maker!.... If you lock yourself out in the balcony, don't worry, they come to your rescue in a matter of minutes!!....

Nice clean and tidy hotel with cheap rate, great pool. Close to point break. Breakfast is not the best but it is included in the stay so can't complain too much, overall I would definitely recommend to family and friends
