"Beautiful villa, lovely Elisabeth makes the difference so we might return."

10.0

Romantic, charming belle époque villa with pool. Location: quiet and peaceful. About 3 km away from the center (during high season a bit hard to find a parking). A big THANK YOU again to Elisabeth, who runs the hotel all by herself. The pool and probably the entire surrounding incl. floors outside (terrace, balconies) need a "refreshing", a renovation. Fountain is not working, garden rather dry, would need some gardener. No meals (dinner) at the time we were there, as the cook left. Tip: uber eats. Breakfast personally prepared and served from Elisabeth was delicious and she even went shopping for our vegan needs. <3 Probably the coffee could be stronger (no filter coffee please). ;) Cleaning staff didn't notice when there was no toilet paper or kleenex left although clearly marked.

"Elegant, Historic Hotel in a Quiet Neighborhood but convenient to all of Saint-Raphael & Cannes."

10.0

We were so delighted by this hotel. Lovely setting, beautiful gardens, very nice pool and very private. Not hard to find and the hotel Director - Pascal and all of the staff were truly wonderful. We couldn't have enjoyed ourselves any better than we did. Was hard to leave!! This is a convenient place to stay if you want to visit St. Tropez, Cannes, and Saint Maxime. We had a lovely room with a view of the Mediterranean in the distance and the pool and gardens. We enjoyed the building which has been historically designated and is really very lovely. This is a gem!

"Beautiful villa, very comfortable stay"

10.0

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. The room was spacious and so was the bathroom. Loved the long, spacious bathtub. Lovely villa to relax in and enjoy a nice breakfast on the patio. The staff was friendly. It was in a good location to explore Saint Raphael. Strong wifi. Minor things to keep in mind: the bedsheets could have been softer and better quality. The pool could be maintained better.

"Charming and Peaceful"

8.0

We travelled down by car from Nice and found this very peaceful, gracious villa that was built in the late-1800s. Staff were hugely friendly; couldn't ask for better. Breakfast was served on the terrace under mulberry trees which provided plenty of shade. The food for breakfast was excellent. Other meals were possible; but the menu is very limited - salade nicoise and/or bruschetta. The quality is excellent though. You would need a car to access local restaurants - and there are some good ones in the area. Hotel recommendations were available; but we sought out restaurants on our own. Car parking was not a problem; no matter when we arrived back. Our room was very large and comfortable. There were two small issues. We did not have a bath, just a shower - we did not feel the need to ask for one, but we would next time. Second, there was no air conditioning. However, with the windows and the fan provided by the hotel, we had absolutely no problem with the heat; despite there being a heat wave at the time we were there. The swimming pool was excellent with plenty of loungers and umbrellas for shade. Most visitors stayed only for one or two nights and so the pool was perhaps a bit underused. La Cheneraie would be a wonderful place to get the peace and quiet you need to write your book!

"Interesting place to stay"

6.0

After staying in a variety of places prior to our arrival it would not be fair to compare. Very disappointed that there were no same day dinner reservations taken upon arrival although we arrived in early afternoon. No knowledge about local places or recommendations for us to go.

"Charming, peaceful, private"

8.0

A perfect place to relax. Our room, (#1) was large, decorated nicely, clean and had a nice view over the garden. We loved to relax in the traditional tea room. The house has been restored recently and retains the original charm I'm sure the 1890's builder would have approved of. The garden has several spots to sit in privacy and the pool is large enough to do laps. There are plenty of lounges pool side so no need to claim a space early. The breakfast included wonderful breads, cheese, fruit and meats was served on tables with fresh linens and under groomed mulberry trees to the sound of morning doves cooing. Amazing. The BBQ offered on our last night with beef, pork, sausage, chicken and grilled vegetables was excellent. The staff was very professional, helpful and friendly. Recommendations for local restaurants, beaches and downtown parking were spot on. The rooms have no AC which might bother some but for us it was enjoyable even though the temperatures reached the upper 80's F each night. We opened the windows and let the breeze keep us cool as others have done since it was originally built. It felt very natural. The neighborhood is a nice place to walk in. Several golf courses are near by as well as a few good restaurants. I would not hesitate to recommend La Cheneraie.

"A perfect little place to stay"

10.0

I stayed here with friends for two nights, and after a couple of days in a larger city with a lot of people and more action-this was the perfect place to arrive; peaceful and beautiful. My shoulders went down immediately. The building and the surrounding garden/pool area are beautiful, and the garden has many different places to sit in the sun or in the shadow. The service and the welcome was really good; excellent and also relaxed and informal in a way. They made us feel like home. It never felt crowded because of the small amount of rooms, and the rooms were fine; good bed, wonderful, large windows with great view, nice bathroom. No air con, but with the fan and the windows it worked all right. The swimming pool area was great, and the breakfast was good. We also ordered some picnic-baskets to eat in the garden-and I would really recommend that! It was a bit far away to the city/beach, but it was not a problem. The hotel has bikes, there is a bus nearby, and it was easy to get a taxi. I had great expectations before this stay-and it was even better. I really loved this hotel, and look forward to come back one day.

"Beautiful hotel"

8.0

I have just returned from a long weekend here with my extended family and had a fantastic time. The hotel lives up to its name and is very romantic and set in idyllic surroundings in the hills overlooking the mountains and Coast. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the hotel itself is beautifully decorated with an old English tea room style which made us feel right at home. The pool and grounds were gorgeous with flowers and fountains and with only 10 rooms in the hotel we usually had the pool to ourselves. All staff members we met were so friendly and welcoming and really went out of their way to make our stay special. Only very small issue which stopped a five star rating was the lack of well functioning air con which was unbearable in the heatwave that took place while we were there but a large fan was put in our room and with the balcony window open this was much better. Would definitely recommend this hotel - you need a car to visit and get around but well worth the trip. Hope we come back here one day as we have made wonderful memories of our stay here. Thanks!

"Romantic and peaceful place"

Nice small hotel in beautiful surroundings. Friendly hostess. Amazing breakfast. Room was very light and airy with seaview. Only backdraw was absence of the airco, since it was very hot. Definately a place to return to. ..
