"Amazing views"

8.0

I think the pictures are pretty self explanatory. I really enjoyed my stay at Holiday House and so did my pup. It was a perfect little getaway spot for me. The manger Alvina was very accommodating and she even brings you a small basket of things for your dog when you arrive. The interior was a little dated but comfortable and clean. There is a deck in front of every room equipped with a picnic table, umbrella, and chairs that are perfect for lounging. I noticed that a lot of people complained about the water access but North Lake Tahoe is rocky and beautiful because of it. There are a few sandy beaches close by and Alvina can point the way but I don't think that they allow dogs. There are not many beaches on Tahoe that do allow dogs so I was really grateful to find this place. The hotel has a little float not far off shore that you can swim to and I believe paddleboards for rent (although I did not partake). Overall I loved this place and can't wait to go back.

"Beautiful views of Lake Tahoe"

8.0

Our one bedroom suite (with living room) overlookws Lake Tahoe. The view was superb, and we had plenty of space. The overall place could use a bit of attention in terms of upkeep. But if you're not too picky, these things pale in comparison to the wonderful surroundings and views. A nice place from which to explore the northern part of Lake Tahoe.

"Lovely spot right on lake, but water access difficult here!"

6.0

Holiday House is a small, friendly place with gorgeous views of the lake from each room plus a great deck to relax on. The units have a separate sitting room and kitchenette, so feel very spacious. It is simple but very clean and Alvina, the owner, is a delightful and welcoming hostess. The motel is very dog friendly. The one negative for me was that water access is extremely difficult at this spot. The climb down to the lake (and back up!) requires the agility of a mountain goat, over boulders and rocks, and there is absolutely no clear "beach" area for getting in and out of the water -- just very slippery rocks. Even my dog, a Labrador, found it challenging to find an easy path down, so -- sadly-- we had to drive to other spots on the lake with easier access for swimming. Very disappointing when we had chosen Holiday House simply because of its great lakefront location! I loved the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful views of the lake at Holiday House, but this one major drawback created problems and made my stay much less enjoyable.

"Nice view"

6.0

This is a small older motel on the shore of north Lake Tahoe. The rooms have a view to die for, unfortunately the rooms are dated and not well maintained. The motel allows pets so if that is a priority it might be for you. The price was well above what the room warranted.

"We had a pleasant stay, we loved it!!!"

10.0

Best location in Tahoe, hands down! Our room had way more than a normal hotel, including a full kitchen and dining area... Not to mention the common areas like the patio and the water side sitting area. It's hard to find a place that just feels like home as soon as you walk in... and it's hard to over estimate just how awesome the view is! I could(and did) just sit there for hours! Alvina is a very lovely host and very helpful!

"Fabulous Lake Tahoe Waterfront View! Great Place for Dog Lovers!"

8.0

Lakefront location at a reasonable cost at the Holiday House. This hotel only has 8 rooms (not counting the ADA accessible one) and all rooms are lakefront! The property is older and not updated but you can't beat the location! I rented a one-bedroom room that had a separate living room, dining table for 4 people, kitchenette and nice sized bathroom for $145/night (Weds. and Thurs. nights) and since I stayed 2 nights I got a 10% discount. Dogs are welcome so I brought my dog Sadie who had a great time romping around near and in the lake. I would return!

"Affordable rooms close to the water, creaky walls"

6.0

The room was large enough to fit everyone in our party. Our room was on the 1st floor. When guests on the 2nd floor walked around, our walls creaked and could also the foot steps of the upstairs guests. The kitchenette was stocked with enough plates and silverware, but the oven door didn't fully close so it took longer for food to cook since heat kept escaping. Probably best suited for college students on a budget just staying for a weekend.

"Unbelievably Beautiful Views of Lake Tahoe"

10.0

Rustic, old school Tahoe inn. The views from our room were spectacular and based on the layout I believe that would be true for all of the different rooms. The inn keeper is charming, a great wind surfer and a dog lover. Your dog is welcome here. We had a great time during our stay.
