Blackberry Hills Munnar - Nature Resort & Spa

This resort was just perfect. Everything from the property, the rooms, all the facilities, the views, sounds of the birds, all just incredible. The food was amazing - breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff were so helpful and kind. A must for anyone staying in Munnar!

Nothing. Perfcection.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und auch sehr preisgünstig. Das Mädchen im Spa hat eine richtige Ayurveda Massage gemacht, und auch beherzt zugegriffen. Die Sauna hat auch sehr gut getan, denn abends wird es ziemlich kühl hier in den Bergen. Die Lage mit dem Blick war unschlagbar.

Morgens war die Dusche heiss, aber abends gerade mal lauwarm. Es gab leider auch keine Möglichkeit, das Zimmer ein bischen aufzuwärmen. Aber das ist jammern auf hohem Niveau.

Chambre très humide, panne d'électricité et on vous a volé 80€, lorsque nous somme aller nous plaindre à la réception ils ne nous ont pas aidé, lorsque nous leur avons demandé de regardé la caméra qui était devant notre chambre ils nous ont dit que malheureusement (pas hazard) c'était la seule à ne pas fonctionner. Je sais pas quoi faire pour retrouver notre argent

Loved each and every moment of our stay. Staff was extremely hospitable and made our stay memorable. View from the property was astounding. There inhouse restaurant offers amazing food at good pricing which makes it a better alternative to stay here. Will definitely recommend others to stay here.

Exceptional views.

The bad vibes began with incessant messages from the resort via the booking.com platform and WhatsApp informing us about problems with payment and pressuring us into making an advance payment for the room. We resisted the pressure as we were worried about being scammed. Details of our booking appeared to have been leaked to some kind of rogue operator who was trying to use unofficial website links to solicit payment. The whole run-up to the stay was marred by this annoyance. Our arrival at the resort was promising. We were greeted with complimentary teas as we completed the extensive registration formalities. The location is stunning. The beauty of the views is indisputable. We were initially very happy with our room but the problems began when we returned from our (decent) dinner on the first evening. With horror, we discovered around ten slugs crawling around the walls of the bathroom. Staff were ineffective and slow in addressing our concerns about the room. They reluctantly moved us to another room, the garden suite, which was better but had mould and generally felt damp. The bathroom installations were substandard. The following day we were moved to an improved suite (valley view). However, the damp remained a problem (arguably unavoidable in the monsoon season but unpleasant nonetheless). Towels and sheets were damp. The bathroom was difficult to ventilate. Our room was not serviced after our second night, and so we did not have fresh towels. When we called the reception for the towels it took over an hour for them to get to the room. The mould in the bathroom on the walls and curtains was unsightly. We didn't think the resort was good value for money. We recognise that the monsoon season may have posed some problems. Slugs and other pests are understandable at such a time of year. However, the lack of maintenance of facilities (i.e. the fact that the windows did not close properly) exacerbated these problems.

A little bit of luxury in the hills. Can’t fault the hotel, the staff, the attention to detail and the views. Everything is catered for you and your happiness and comfort is every staff members priority. The restaurant was great and even though part of the complex (and at night you are somewhat stuck there as driving out not a good idea as unsafe to drive in rainy season) it was not overly expensive. Great breakfast choice too. Amazing wildlife and birds all around.

The weather was not brilliant as rainy season so a lot of rain which made venturing out of the hotel difficult. When the mist and rain clouds lifted truly stunning. For some reason we (and other guests) assumed the pool was individual to each villa but it’s not it’s one shared infinity pool for all.
