La Foresteria Planeta Estate

Short but wonderful stay at the Planeta Estate in the Menfi area. We only stayed one night but could easily have stayed much longer. There is so much to do in the area from wine tasting to beaches to ruins. Or you could spend time relaxing at the property. They care about what they do here and it’s reflected in the attention to detail, the landscaping, and the food.

Wow! Wow! Did I mention Wow! Just go to La Foresteria, and stay there. Awesome food, beautiful views, fabulous rooms. Wish we could have just sat there and melted into it.

This hotel is beautifully designed and beautifully located. They have built a terrace covered with herbs that is overlooked by the restaurant, so you eat your breakfast or dinner with the sight and scent of this in front you, and beyond that is incredibly beautiful scenery. It has a beautiful pool and bar, really fantastically good food (Angelo the chef is a marvel) which is both flavourful and delicate simultaneously (quite hard to achieve) and the service is faultless. It is small and welcoming and about 20 minutes from the beach. They also have a place at the beach which is wonderful as well, and you can change there and eat lunch there and get thoroughly looked after.

This oasis/resort is a dream! Particularly if your stay is preceded (as was ours) by lots of kinetic sightseeing and family gatherings. Suppose you could use it as a base but would be difficult so just enjoy because Planeta/La Forestaria epitomizes tranquil luxury--sort of 5-star agriturismo. The rooms are fabulous and well stocked; the surroundings are gorgeous: unobstructed views of the sea, vineyards and flowers and herbs with so many butterflies. The private beach is not close but well worth a visit. Wonderful but chilly pool. Great staff. Delicious cuisine. BEST!!

Excellent staff at this small comfortable hotel with a wide range of facilities and an excellent dining room and (reasonably priced) wine list. Large comfortable rooms.

Wonderful dinner; very good wines. Very pleasantly situated in vineyard, with nice view. Convenient to Selinunte classical ruins.

Beautiful vineyard and very modern and comfortable hotel room.

Nice bedrooms, great location and lovely swimming pool and breakfast choices although the evening meals were very expensively priced and some of the staff had some attitude problems and very slow paced.
